Villa Giovanna

The property is charming, spacious and very clean. We found everything we needed down to the things like shampoo. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of things to cook with. We were greeted with bottled water and free snacks. The beds are comfortable and there are wonderful pillows, I think with memory foam. Plenty of storage space in the bedrooms and the kitchen. There is no WiFi but we didn't mind, as we spent most of the time on the beach anyway. The TV has enough channels for casual watching. There's a big terrace perfect for outside eating. Parking is free on a private property next to the house Paolo was a great host. He responded quickly with any question I had, explained to us everything we needed before and during our trip. The biggest highlight of the property was the closeness to the wonderful beach. It's literally two minutes away. The beach in September was mostly empty, wonderful, beautiful water full of fish. We kept falling asleep to the sound of waves instead of motorcycles, which was wonderful. We had no problem with groceries as the big supermarket is 17 minutes by car.

Mosquitoes. It's not Paolo's fault and he is doing everything he can to help with that (there are mosquito nets on the windows and plug-in mosquito repellents to use, just need to buy the refill). We did have spray repellents and plug-in mosquito repellents for the entire house but the damn mosquitoes bite even during the daytime, which made eating out on the terrace during the day or night impossible. It's just something to consider when you're a mosquito magnet like my husband and daughter. If you go off-season, like we did in the second half of September, prepare for almost everything to be closed. There is nothing to do in the evening. Not many places to eat and the few open ones are pretty expensive. Thick smoke during the evening, night and early morning 4 nights out of the five we stayed in. Probably an agricultural reason for that, so nothing can be done about this. But it's really annoying as the smoke was inside the house even with all the windows and doors closed. The beach wasn't spotlessly clean, as it's a public beach, there is occasionall trash. You are advised to keep on your flip flops and sandals all the way until you get to the water. None of the things are bad enough to make our stay less than 10 stars, though.

Se devo trovare un difetto: Problemi di assorbimento elettrico, per cui se si utilizzano piano cottura e condizionatori, salta la corrente.
