The location is fantastic! Really close to the beach but a bit set back so it has some privacy. The beach is lovely and there is a shop really close by. The hotel has a bar by the pool and the staff were friendly and helpful. Maria (we think) on reception in the daytime was super helpful and friendly! During the stay we were in two different rooms and one of the rooms had a lovely terrace with beautiful planting. There are a lot of fruit trees and vines which we really liked. The pool is in the centre of the complex with the villas around it. I think this would be a great place for a family stay!
We checked in at around 7pm in the evening (due to a late ferry, which is fairly common it seems) and we had let the hotel know that we would be late due to this, but when we arrived there was no one at reception to meet us and it took some time for anyone to arrive. Once someone did arrive we were checked in and shown to our room and given some information about the breakfast and that towels required a deposit but that was about it. Essentially the customer service was a bit more laid back than we’d ideally like. There was a bar but often there was no one there and we weren’t sure who actually worked at the hotel so it was difficult to know who to ask (there were also various people who went behind the bar on occasion who also seemed like they were guests wearing swimsuits/ friends with the actual staff. It was a little confusing!😂). In addition following making our reservation but before we arrived we’d been contacted to inform us that there had been an oversight with the room and would we mind moving rooms mid-stay. The extra room was nicer than what we’d booked, but it was a little disappointing to have to pack up and check-out only to then check back in a little later (the hotel did hold our suitcases during this time) To be clear if we didn’t want to swap rooms the other option offered was to cancel our reservation entirely which we didn’t want to do. They were very nice about it, however in practice it wasn’t ideal.
We’d also add that the breakfast buffet wasn’t great compared to most other places we’ve stayed at this price point - very little hot food, pastries were a bit stale etc
