The Cottage is Victorian, built in 1895 of red brick with an unusual tiled roof designed by a Dutch Architect. It's one of two cottages which were built for farm workers for the local estate. It has recently been updated but has retained its character & friendly atmosphere.

The Cottage is very private, backs onto fields and overlooks wonderful views of the countryside. The fields are often occupied by a flock of sheep and lambs from the local farm together with lots of wildlife.

The location offers a number of interesting local walks and is a great base to explore Northamptonshire. It's conveniently located for Northampton, Market Harborough, Warwick, Rugby, Kettering & Corby. 5 minutes from Long Buckby Station which has regular direct trains from London Euston (which take approx. 1 hour). A pick up from the Station can be pre arranged on request.

There are many places of interest which are close by, Holdenby House approx. 1 mile away, Althorpe House 2 miles away, Coton Manor 4 miles. Also within very easy access there's Kelmarsh Hall, Silverstone race circuit, Leicester Race Course, Towcester Race Course and Donnington Park.

In the village a 2 minute walk away is the Red Lion gastro pub which has a very high reputation for excellent food and facilities. There are other excellent pubs in local villages who also offer great dining experiences. There are 2 Indian restaurants, 2 Chinese restaurants and 1 Fish and chip shop in Long Buckby which is 5 minutes away who offer delivery services.

The closest shops for food and supplies are in Long Buckby which is a 5 minute drive away. There is a Coop supermarket and Cost Cutter store, Artisan bakery and chemist. An ATM is situated close to the Coop. For online Grocery delivers there is Sainsburys, ASDA and Waitrose in Northampton who deliver to the area.

This is a wonderful property with a fantastic view of the countryside, off street parking, and super clean. We visited Cambridge for a punting tour and the Warner Brothers Harry Potter tour, and East Haddon is situated perfectly between them, an hour or so drive to each location. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans, and cooking utensils. There is a good sized refrigerator/freezer. Tesco Express is about a 10 minute drive, and we were able to get fresh fruit, vegetables, and other items for breakfast and dinner, and full size grocery stores are just a little further away.Check in and check out was a breeze, and Julie, our host, made sure we had everything we needed. A few pubs are in the area. One is within walking distance. This property is very quiet and peaceful. Highly recommended.

We spent a very pleasant 9 nights at Bay tree cottage. Although well positioned to access the Motorway it is in a very peaceful location. The facilities provided are all of a high quality and the host could not be more helpful when asked questions. We would stay there anytime time we visit family in the area

Absolutely perfect cottage for our stay while attending the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. Julie is an amazing host, very friendly and very quick to respond to any questions and offer recommendations. She even knew to wish us (American travelers) a happy July 4th, which was extremely thoughtful. The cottage was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and fully equipped with everything we could need. Her garden is just lovely and looks out over rolling hills dotted with little sheep. A truly idyllic landscape. We were absolutely delighted with our stay. A definite 5 star experience.

This was our second stay at this cottage, so we clearly loved it the first time! Our second visit was every bit as enjoyable. The cottage is beautifully decorated and furnished, and so comfortable. The kitchen truly is fully equipped with cooking utensils, pans, and a few spices etc. The dishes are beautiful sets of crockery just as you might have in your own home make dining in a very pleasant option. Host Julie provides a few provisions to get you started too, such as tea, coffee and sugar, plus a few other items. She includes lots of really thoughtful touches inside and outside the home to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Communications are easy and very quick. We fully expect to return again when we need to be in the area! The village and surrounding area are just delightful - gorgeous scenery right outside your door, a short walk to the Red Lion for breakfast, dinner or drinks, and so peaceful.

The cottage was everything that was promised, and more. We enjoyed tea, or a glass if wine, at the garden table overlooking spectacular countryside, with only the bleating of lambs and the chirping of birds to break the silence. Julie is a wonderful host, and very responsive to questions. We look forward to returning in the future.

Host was gracious and available. We had all the comforts of home at the same time as living in a luxurious house with glorious gardens and views. We were working in Northampton during the day and retreating to East Haddon in the evenings. We extended our stay because we loved being here so much! We will be back!
