We were travelling as a family, including my parents (seniors) and 2 kids. We wanted a big house with 3 bedrooms and 6 beds, a pool and a nice view. The villa has all these things but other villas/appartments offer comparable features. What made us pick this villa was the size of the house and the big, beautiful garden. We were not disappointed because the features I just mentioned are all there and this is were the villa really shines. The highlight of this villa is enjoying the garden, view and pool with plenty of available sunbeds. The pool is big, clean and safe. If its a rainy day, the house is big enough to stay inside. The photos of the inside on booking are accurate, WIFI worked. The management was quick in their communication with us (e.g. providing extra sunbeds) and even the owner was getting involved and very helpful when after some heavy rain one day the ACs of all bedrooms stopped working. They sent somebody as soon as possible and he was able to fix one AC (fuse), but for the other two an electrician had to come the next day before they were able to fix them as well. It is a good place to explore and enjoy Grande-Terre. You should have a rental car to get around but you could even walk to the Super U market if necessary and you just want to stay mostly in the villa and local area. Some neighbors are close and you can hear the kids play but you have your privacy and nothing disturbs the view. The local airport is close (in plain sight when you look to the sea) and the tourist flights are common but the related noise it is not annoying or very loud (small planes but mostly gyrocopters). We were happy that the house had a great view of the sea and is relatively close to it but was not next to the sea because the smell from the rotting sargasse in some coastal areas was annoying.

There is no file/folder in the house that explains the house and all practical matters, as was common in all the other rental appartments/villas we stayed in. As some other guests have commented before, some things in the house are a bit special, in particular the electric switches for lights, etc. (it takes a while until you get used to which switch does what). We never managed to get any TV channels but we did not really care. The three big windows to the terrace do not lock, thus you have to always close three metal shutters to secure the windows at night or when you leave. Two metal shutters need to be opened and closed manually (pushing and pulling horizontally), while one window has a convenient electronic vertical shutter. A bit strange but you get used to it (a file/folder with relevant information on this and other matters would help). The villa could and should have been cleaner when we arrived. You are in the tropics, thus mosquitos, ants, etc. are to be expected but can be managed with certain cleaning regimes. We had several busy ant trails in the house when we arrived. Other villas/appartments were better maintained in this regard and had no such issues inside the house. Other appartments/villas also had bedrooms with mosquito nets, which would have helped to avoid some bites (it is not as bad with mosquitos in Grande-Terre as in Basse-Terre but they are still there). As some guests have noted before us, the bathrooms could use some updates/refreshments but are still okay. Also, a part of the floor in the master bedroom moves (the wooden planks at the window close to the AC sink in) when you step on it. Maybe this can and should be fixed; it did not feel dangerous but it is a strange feeling when you experience it. When we were there (April 2025), the main beaches around Saint Francois were strongly affected by sargasse but you could find beaches or parts of beaches that were mostly clean of it.

La maison est parfaitement située, la vue est sublime

Cependant, la villa a besoin d’être remise au propre, pleins de choses à revoir et réparer ou rafraîchir
