Rancho Tranquillo

The location is near the village but far enough to be quiet. The hosts are terrific. The grounds are beautiful.

I had a run in with some bugs on the last evening but that's largely out of the control of everyone but Mother Nature

Lovely place to stay in Ometepe. Daniela and Tony are lovely hosts and can help with booking things. I also had breakfast one morning and it was very good!

Perfect choice. Very comfortable room, beautiful garden, incredible sunsets. Had breakfast and dinner with Daniela on multiple occasions, was also very good. Also rented a very good scooter from them. It’s a 10 minute walk by the lake from Moyogalpa center with nice views. Stay here, you won’t regret it!

The ranch is quiet, it’s a beautiful property with all kinds of trees and bushes and located at the lake. The bedroom was simple, but spacious,clean and a fresh breeze coming through at night. The room has a terrace with a table, chairs and hammocks. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom fine. Very quiet at night. No roosters or barking dogs. The owners are very sweet, caring, and lovely people. Daniela is the best cook and every day I ordered a vegetarian breakfast and dinner, lovingly prepared by her. Meals are nutritious and inexpensive. Tony is the best motorbike chauffeur and he gave me a lovely tour of the island for a very reasonable fee. Just note; mistakenly I I took the long way from the port to their ranch. (Google) After the port you need to get to the dirt path that is immediately along the lake. It’s about a 15 minute walk, quiet and safe. It is possible to take a tuk tuk to the entrance in the main road. You have a 5-7 minute walk through the banana plantation to the ranch. I would have loved to spend more time at their ranch, but unfortunately they were fully booked.

I loved being there. Perhaps some hooks to hang your clothes in the little hallway to the bathroom would be nice?
