Large rooms great for large families

Its location was excellent and we loved Port Isaac and Port Gaverne, however there was a building site immediately adjacent to the site but thankfully no one was working on the site at the time of our stay. We had a good configuration of bedrooms, the layout was fine, the number of bathrooms was fine, the kitchen was fairly well designed and equipped. The beds were comfy and the bed linen of good quality. The seating downstairs was comfy.

Where to start: the size of the fridge for a family of 9 was too small, no weighing scales, no salt and pepper, some crockery wasn’t clean The dining room table was so sticky it was horrible, fortunately we had a plastic table cloth with us for a birthday celebration that we put over the top, but when we removed it on our last day it just pealed off. I feel the varnish needs removing and re-doing?! If we walked bare foot in the home the soles of our feet were black, the floors were swept and tidy but just not clean. We would have cleaned the floors ourselves but no mop! Log burner glass had not been cleaned in ages, not that we needed it but it was very unsightly, use wet newspaper and wood ash to clean! Windows had not been cleaned in a while. Bathrooms: No. 1 on ground floor, the water from the shower had clearly overflowed in past and there was mould/smell, no mirror over the sink, no shaver point and there is no latch on the door. No. 2 first left upstairs, toilet seat kept closing when toilet in use No. 3 second left, smells if roof ventilation not left open and hard to reach No. 5 second on right shower leaked and water came down into conservatory, so concerned that we felt we couldn’t use it. We phoned twice to report it but no response and on 3rd occasions they did say they would send someone round but we felt it was not something that could be resolved easily Generally the hot water upstairs was erratic and there was hardly any toilet paper on arrival, there were 4 spare rolls left downstairs. No shaver/electric toothbrush points in bathrooms upstairs. Bedroom 1 ground floor no full length mirror Bedroom 2 first left upstairs no full length mirror, window on side didn’t open Bedroom 3 second left upstairs, the double doors did have a safety lock but this was easy to remove and the flat roof outside has no safety rail so very unsafe with young children and property advertised as child friendly!
