Freundlicher Empfang durch die Gastgeber. Hilfreicher Tipp für einen kostenlosen Parkplatz am Hafen etwa 10 Minuten zu Fuss vom Haus entfernt. Das alte Haus hat viel Charme, ist aber sehr speziell: im Erdgeschoß eine Küche und dahinter ein Schlafzimmer ohne Fenster. Im ersten OG ein Vorraum, ein großes Schlafzimmer und kleines Bad mit Dusche und Waschmaschine. Im schönen alten Treppenhaus winden sich schmale Treppen über mehrere Etagen hoch zu einer großen Terrasse mit zwei Liegen und Sonnenschirm, und ganz oben auf eine kleine Terrasse mit herrlichem Blick über die Dächer der Altstadt aufs Meer. Wenn man ganz oben im Freien essen will, hilft die Kondition eines Bergsteigers, um alles hoch- und wieder hinunterzutragen.

Das alte Häuschen liegt in der Altstadt von Gallipoli auf einer Insel. Wegen der engen Straßen ist das Haus mit dem Auto nicht erreichbar. Das Gepäck kann zwar mit Ausnahmegenehmigung im Auto auf die Insel gebracht werden, es ist aber schwierig, in der Nähe überhaupt einen Parkplatz zu finden. In unserem Fall endete der Vorgang mit einem Strafzettel (30 Euro). Kein Wohnzimmer, kein Sofa oder andere Sitzgelegenheit zum Wohnen außer den Stühlen in der Küche und ganz oben auf der kleinen Terrasse. Keine Geschirrspülmaschine. Kein Toaster. Die Küchenausstattung ist teilweise limitiert, z.B. nur wenige Becher und Trinkgläser.

Het huisje lag midden in het centrum en dichtbij een strandje. Daarnaast had deze accommodatie een geweldig balkon met 360 graden uitzicht.

Er is geen privé parkeerplek en de dichtstbijzijnde parkeerplaats (betaald) is erg druk waardoor je ‘geluk moet hebben’ om een parkeerplek te bemachtigen.

Location was amazing - at the end of a charming narrow laneway. A stones throw to the Duomo, restaurants, cafes, shops and right beside a lovely fruit and veg shop. Right in the heart of the old town and just 3 minutes walk to beach. A truly great location in such a beautiful old town.

Second bedroom does not have an external window. However the main bedroom is very large and beautiful.

Amazing location - just a minute from the central basilica, a few minutes from the beach, and all the required small shops around! Superb view from the terrace - we spent many late evenings sitting here and watching the stars and the night fishermen's boats leaving the port... And it's a very living area - you can watch the everyday life of the town through the kitchen's doors. Probably it's not everyone, but we love the historical environment and the classical furniture of the house: vaulted ceilings, colorful tiles, and shutters. The house has WiFi, but the best spot to use it was a stair :) But this is expected, taking into account how thick the walls are here. Stair makes me think i'm inside of the pictures of my beloved M.C.Escher - love it.

Theoretically, the situation with WiFi could be improved a bit with the mesh network or repeaters.
