The accommodation was located in the old part of Riposto, a 5–10 minute walk from the central square, the church, and the harbor. It is a very peaceful town, overshadowed by the bustling tourist hubs of Catania and Taormina. The apartment itself was situated on the top floor (an attic level) of a two-story building. A lady lived on the floor below and handed us the keys. Convenient street parking was available right in front of the house—free of charge within a maximum radius of 50 meters. The apartment consisted of two bedrooms (each with a double bed and its own air conditioning unit). A connecting hallway doubled as a kitchenette equipped with everything necessary. The separate bathroom was spacious and included a washing machine; while the shower cubicle was small, it didn't pose a problem. There was access to a terrace on each side of the house—meaning two private terraces belonging to the apartment. The street-facing terrace offered a beautiful view over the rooftops, and we essentially used it as our living and dining area; you could even catch a glimpse of the smoking peak of Mount Etna from there. Several cafés, bakeries, and restaurants are located nearby along the main street. It offers a truly relaxing atmosphere compared to the busy, commercialized areas in the vicinity, making this apartment an ideal base for exploring those places.

Some might find it unpleasant that to reach your floor, you have to walk literally through the entryway of the neighbor living on the floor below, but it didn't bother us. The staircase itself is quite steep and could be difficult for elderly or disabled people. Also, the lady who handed us the keys didn't speak English, but we managed to communicate with a little effort.

Die herzensgute Gastgeberin :) Eine sehr zuvorkommende, hilfsbereite und gutmütige Frau (mit Ehemann) :) Wir hatten ALLES in der Wohnung, das für einen gelungenen Aufenthalt nötig ist. Wir bekamen Kaffee, Wasser und frisches Obst bei Ankunft und fühlten uns direkt total wohl. Gerne kommen wir wieder - wir können diese Unterkunft und die Herzlichkeit der beiden Gastgeber wärmstens weiterempfehlen!

The apartment is outstandingly clean. It has two very comfy terraces and a kitchen with everything you need. The host is lovely, very caring and helpful. 100% Sicilian, 100% recommended: you get the full experience here. The area in Riposto is very central and you can enjoy the nightlife at the Docks or places like Caffé Giorgia or the many restaurants in the vicinity. The Supermarket (Conad) is around the corner. For the explorers: just wander around the streets and you will love the location, which is not touristy and filled with sicilian life.
