The city of Wells is by no means sprawling (in fact it's the smallest in England), however what it lacks in size it more than makes up for in sheer enchantment with its cobbled streets and market village atmosphere. It also happens to boast one of the most marvellous Medieval cathedrals in the land, and it's one that has been attracting at first pilgrims then visitors by their droves since the 13th Century. Huddled in the heart of rural Somerset at the foot of the Mendhips, Wells is a merge of two attractive worlds, one of Gothic architecture, narrow streets, pavement cafes and independent shops, and the other of countryside quiet and nature-infused pursuits.
With its secluded setting and sweeping outlook over private farmland, this gorgeous glamping pod is a little slice of rural perfection, but what makes it completely unique is its staggering, uninterrupted view of Wells Cathedral. The ideal balance between countryside escapism and city break, Chapterhouse offers couples a truly idyllic place to unwind away from a busy schedule while being just a stroll from Wells city and all it has to offer. Designed with perfect proportions that feel more boutique retreat than rustic, the pod's interior feels contemporary, spacious and airy, with creature comforts galore. There's a dining area, living room, kitchen and bedroom all laid out as open plan and a separate bathroom which includes a large walk-in shower complete with rain head. French doors open the entire space outside to a timber deck where you'll be able to unwind in complete solitude, barbecuing in the sunshine or indulgently soaking in the wood-fired hot tub which has been tucked away to the side of the lodge.
Guests with their four-legged companions in tow will be pleased to know Chapterhouse welcomes pets, so for peace of mind, the fence surrounding the property completely encloses the space. There are also many lovely walks in the area for both humans and canines to explore including a public bridle way that lies directly behind the field. Of course, Wells is a mere stroll away, so you'll be able to enjoy a coffee or luncheon at The Bishop's Table within minutes of leaving your front door.

great location and easy booking through luxury coastal.
Reasonably well equipped pod, but there’s a reasonable amount of black mould around the shower and on the wooden walls. If you look closely it’s also really not very clean. Corners are full of dust and dirt, kitchen area needed a deep clean etc.
Otherwise it was a pleasurable stay. Short walk into Wells which is beautiful and plenty of great places to eat nearby. There is also a Nespresso Vertuo machine in the pod, but no mention of this and no coffee pods provided

The location, the cabin, the hot tub was everything I hoped it would be. On arrival the cabin was nice and warm and spotlessly clean. A lovely complementary bottle of Prosecco was also left on the side which was a nice touch. The cabin had everything we needed and the information pack answered all our questions. The hot tub was easy to use and plenty of logs were provided. There was plenty of privacy as the other cabins were well spaced apart. Wells centre was only a short walk away so everything was perfect. I only wish I had booked an extra night. Never mind maybe next time

My husband and I stayed in a pod for the weekend at chapter house as an anniversary gift from our daughters and it didn’t disappoint. The pod was easy to access with a key box just outside the door, the code is text to you a few days before your stay so you don’t have to fuss meeting people for the keys. It was clean and comfortable and had little finishing touches which made it feel homely. It was surprisingly very warm inside even without the heating on.
The hot tub was a bonus was so easy to use and was secluded.
I’m not a camper at all but glamping i’d happily do again, the pod included a good sized bathroom with toilet sink and shower, a microwave and hob, a kettle and toaster and a bbq in the lovely fenced off garden space complete with table and chairs. It was so peaceful and just a short walk to wells town. Would definitely recommend.
