Serenity at the Lake

We hope you book and enjoy our charming lake house. "Serenity at the Lake" in Hernando is located in a peaceful setting surrounded by palm trees, lush greenery, and beautiful plants with lovely views of flowers, the lake and the occasional visiting of sandhill cranes. This is a perfect location if you are visiting the area, or if you simply want to experience a touch of Florida lakeside with many wonderful activities minutes away!

We are located towards the back of our neighborhood on a circle, so not much traffic comes through. We own the vacant lake front lot directly across the way which gives you full view and full access to the lake. Our neighbors are mostly snowbirds or keep to themselves. The rest of the neighborhood is mostly retirees. It's the perfect neighborhood for walking, riding bikes, running or just relaxing outdoors and enjoying everything the lake has to offer. Please note: We DO NOT allow parties of any kind in this house - we respect the quiet and privacy of our neighbors.

We are less than 5 miles to several very popular restaurants that are family owned and have a long standing in our town: LaPergola, Stumpknockers Inverness, The Burger Station, Sauced Hogs BBQ. We are a short drive to the local pharmacy, grocery store and farmers market.

Worth the short drive: Fresh Start Donuts (get there EARLY they do run out!!), Mariana's The Stinky Rose for Italian and good pizza, Paige's for smashburgers.

Withlacoochee State Trail (10 min) is an extremely popular trail for biking, walking, running and skating. 46 mile flat terrain trail traverses rivers and forests, small town charm and railroad history.

Crystal River (25 min) is a popular place to see hundreds of manatees certain times of the year and you can swim with them right from your boat in Kings Bay. Three Sisters springs connected to the bay are an amazing place to kayak, paddle board and snorkel in too! The manatees flock to the springs during the winter months.

Ocala, FL (20+ mins) Horse Capital of the world! World Equestrian Center plus many farms and places to horseback. The Canyons Zip Lining and Adventure Park. Yummy House Ocala.

Downtown Dunnellon (15-20 min) historic village shopping, amazing Cuban sandwiches, Greek food and seafood with live music on the river! The rainbow river is also a tourist attraction as well as a local destination.

Homosassa (30 min) AMAZING scalloping certain times of the year. The Freezer for great seafood.

Silver Springs (29 miles) - Glass bottom boat rides on the river and Zoo.

Rainbow River for tubing, kayaking or swimming in the swim area. See web site for rules and procedures.

Tampa Airport & Lowry Park Zoo - 1.5 hours

Orlando Theme Parks & Airport - 1.5 hours

Clearwater Beach - 1.5 hours (sugar sand beaches). The Palm Pavilion is a great beach bar/restaurant with the best sunsets around, excellent rum runners and award winning food. They typically have beach chairs and umbrellas available for rent. There is a municipal pay to park lot right there.

The less popular/crowded Crystal River man-made beach, Pine Island beach, and Cedar Key beach are all about an hour away.
