Barang Village Community Homestay

Living and feeling like part of the family were what made this stay so lovely. I got to see and experience what day to day living is like and was welcomed into whatever the families were doing - cooking, collecting fodder for the animals and helping two newly born baby goats on their start in life. Nothing was too much trouble, the food was delicious and I was taken on a walk to the waterfalls for a dip - and I woke up one morning to the most amazing Mountain View’s. My stay could not have better and I now have 3 sisters to add to my existing 4 back in the UK!

My stay at Barang Community Village was one of the most meaningful travel experiences I’ve had in Nepal. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed not as a guest, but as part of the community. The peaceful surroundings, lush jungle landscapes, and genuine kindness of everyone I met created an atmosphere that invited me to slow down, reconnect, and simply be present. What made this experience truly special was the opportunity to experience village life in an authentic way. Sharing meals prepared with fresh ingredients from the land, learning about local traditions, connecting with community members, and waking up to the sounds of nature each morning reminded me of the beauty of a simpler way of living. Barang Community Village is much more than a place to stay—it is a place to experience heartfelt human connection, sustainability, culture, and the wisdom of living in harmony with nature. I left feeling nourished, inspired, and deeply grateful. Thank you for welcoming me with such warmth and generosity. I hope to return again and would highly recommend this experience to anyone seeking a deeper, more meaningful connection with Nepal beyond the usual tourist path. This is a wonderful concept - allowing you to stay in a small village and understand how Nepalese people and culture impacts everyday life. The fresh air, Mountain View’s and mountain streams are a break from Pokhara. We stayed 3 nights and had the best time - leaving as family!
