Miztec Manor

The location was convenient access to South Lake Tahoe and its magnificent views. It's also located a quiet neighborhood. The house itself is very spacious and the necessary appliances. The host's rating should be 10/10, as they are very communicative, patience, and helpful with all our inquiries during the stay. One unique experience from this stay, was seeing an actual live black bear, 2 days in a row (though, this is a pro and a con). The host did provide very useful information about black bear near the door, so please read it to be prepare.

Though at no fault of the owner or their cleaning team, but the house is located in a very wooded area, and so you should expect to see ALOT of big black ants and spiders inside the house. Also, while seeing a live black bear in person in the wild is a fun experience, it was also scary. Please remember to lock your doors, especially car doors. Our car door was opened by the bear on our first morning, and the next morning, it opened the car door of the neighbor across the street. We were able to scare the bear off by making loud noise and blasting the car alarm. The bear also opened the "secured" trash bin and spilled out the trash inside, getting us an earful from the neighbor who ask us to clean it up. The unfortunate thing was that those were not our trash--it belonged to whoever stayed before us. I'm not sure if the bear was just too smart or the bear trash bin was not secured by the cleaners when they cleaned out the stay before us. Anyway, besides what is outside of the host's control, there's only 2 things I think can really say be the "CONS" to this place. One is that both doors were window doors and had no curtains, so there's a lack of privacy (from bear and human). The second is the blanket and pillowcase were pilled, so if you have dry skin, it scratches against your skin. If possible, I would recommend the host changing getting new blankets and pillowcase.

It’s not that I didn’t like it I just wish there was a broom available and some cleaning rags.

Everything was great. My only issue was that it slept 8, but you would only allow for 6.

This is a beautiful house. Very comfortable beds and good dishes and coffee maker and cookware.

The house was clean but needed some cobwebs knocked down.
