Cape Recife Lighthouse Luxury Villa

An absolutely incredible place with exceptional hospitality! The villa is stunning, with a unique layout, beautiful interiors, and breathtaking ocean views. The lower level has two bedrooms and a living area, while the upper level features a gorgeous ocean-facing lounge, dining area, and kitchen. What truly made our stay special was the people. We had two dedicated staff members and a private chef, all of whom were incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming. The chef was one of the loveliest people we met during our trip! From the moment we checked in, we felt special. They welcomed us with drinks and rose petals, which was such a thoughtful gesture. The host and staff went above and beyond, recommending places to visit, helping us plan our activities, and arranging a fantastic safari experience through their company. The lighthouse itself was another highlight. We even had a guided tour and got to climb to the top! The entire team was genuinely wonderful, and their warmth and hospitality made this one of our most memorable stays in South Africa.

Absolutely nothing! Everything was wonderful, and we genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

The property is secluded and right on the beach next door to the lighthouse. Offering privacy and a relaxing romantic setting. It is has everything you could with for in terms of appliances and luxury. The view from the entertainment area (which has a built in braai) was amazing and watching the lighthouse light beam moving over the ocean at night was magical. Host was helpful and really went the extra mile to make the stay most enjoyable. Also you able to have a free tour of the lighthouse while on the property.

Getting TO and from the property is a bit of a challenge and should not be attempted with a small or low car. The road in the nature reserve is really shot (pothole craters and mud) in sections and I actually felt sorry for the Uber drivers. They do grade the bit of road up to the property of sand.

Location is a bit far out from town but if you want the privacy and awesome views, a small price to pay. Hosts Ashwin and Annelize were very polite, helpful and efficient. Annelize prepared the breakfasts on time and to our liking every morning. Chef Simon who cooked our dinners was great and made delicious food! There is stunning access to beach and views and very limited people around so very private. Inside the Villa, very insulated with aircon to keep you warm and quiet, awesome shower, no TV but WIFI. Lovely entertaining area with wood fire and balcony overlooking the sea and coastline. Everything you need for self-catering was available (no air fryer though).

If you are going to self-cater, make sure to pick up plentiful supplies, I think Uber eats / 60/60 does deliver there but quite a drive out from the nearest convenience store if you want to select your own stuff. Being on the beach, the wind can get quite strong and some of the garage doors in the facility can bang and vibrate, you are well insulted in the Villa but we could still hear one garage door in particular banging with the gusts of wind from time to time. Unfortunately our air con stopped working on the final night (think it tripped) but up until then, slept really well,

Location

Water pressure for the bathroom was non-existent , bathroom shower sink very slow in draining water. After hour access was not convenient as we needed to wake someone by phone as there was no gate access provided. Lounge upstairs was not properly clean.
