This single room apartment is in a great location, although the traffic was heavy, corner Roxis and Dapitan streets and only 6 km from the international airport - cheap using a Grab taxi. The building itself is beautiful, the accommodation staff are friendly and helpful and the armed guard at the front door makes things feel very safe! I was grateful to be on the 39th floor and even there, I could hear sirens most of the day and for some of the night. Hamid, the owner of the accommodation made contact with me almost immediately - which was really great. He offered me helpful tips and communicated with me about the security and what I needed to do. I’m very grateful that he did that. He was my first contact in the Philippines. Great communication. There is a Bank literally 30 m from the front door including ATM machine; and 20 m around the corner, a small convenience store, for which I was very grateful.

Things I’ve learnt during my stay and trip to share: As a solo female traveller, I asked the armed guard in the lobby at 6.30 AM if I should walk the 1 km to a hotel for my tour bus tour pick up, and he said no, for my safety, catch a grab taxi. Once you leave the building, the surrounding streets are sadly, very poor. The apartment itself is long and thin and approximately 2m across in the lounge room. The small bedroom has no window. For the air conditioning to come into the bedroom you need to leave the bedroom door open. Be aware there is no sound proofing - even with a small fan I bought with me and headphones playing in my ear, I could still hear people talking, walking past and the noise from the surrounding apartments with talking and even TV and music late into the night. (Last night until approx. 2AM). You can also hear people having showers and toilets flushing. These are not complaints – I’m just sharing the reality. Overall, it just helps to know these things! 🙂

Completeness and cleanliness of the apartment.

The property was lovely and well equipped.

Unfortunately it was wrongly coordinated with the cleaners because when we arrived at the place it was just recently vacated and not cleaned up. But our lovely host immediately sort this out and gave us another beautiful and very clean unit.
