We were going to Moenchengladbach to a concert on Saturday night and stayed in this apartment for the weekend. As soon as we came upstairs via the own entrance we arrived in an open plan lounge/diner/kitchen. Everything was spotlessly clean. My friend and I shared the bedroom (loved the feather/down duvets and pillows) and my teenage girls stayed in the other bedroom on the sofabed. The spacious bathroom contains a shower as well as a massive bath. The artwork on the walls gives the apartment a cosy feel. There is a supermarket in walking distance with a bakery that also opens on Sunday morning to get your fresh German rolls). A few more shops (food, clothing, pharmacy) are only a 10 minute drive away. On Saturday we visited the nearby town Kempen, which is beautiful for a stroll through the pedestrianised streets. There seemed to be some nice shops here too, but unfortunately they were closed in the afternoon. The drive in the evening to Moenchengladbach was also easy and not long. I wish we could have stayed a few more days to go for walks and explore the area further. The hosts Nico and Ron are absolute darlings. They live downstairs and are super helpful. I can only recommend this property if you are looking for a peaceful stay in a quiet area.
