My family of 5 spent 3 nights at Alessandro's apartment, which far exceeded our expectations. Alessandro met us at the front door to the building upon arrival to give us the key, escort us up to the apartment on the third floor, show us how the elevator works on the way up, and provide a walk through of the apartment. Before leaving, he also gave us many recommendations for truly discovering his home town, and it was very obvious how much Alessandro loves Torino (rightfully so, our visit was amazing and all of his recommendations were perfect).
This is not just a corporate rental unit. The building is 140 years old, and the apartment belonged to Alessandro's grand parents, whose furniture, books, jazz records (along with an 80 year old gramophone built into the living room wall that unfortunately needs a new turntable motor but very cool!), and photos all remain. The kitchen and 2 bathrooms have been remodeled, and the 3 bedrooms were extremely comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to make homemade gnocchi one night, and the apartment is surrounded by an upscale neighborhood with restaurants close enough to walk to eat or carry take away back. We ordered take away pizza and pinsa from L’Angolo Verde around the corner twice during our stay - so good! The apartment is also just a mile walk to the Royal Palace. We walked to the apartment from the train station, then walked all over the city for 3 days, then back to the train station for our departure to Bologna - super convenient. I took way too many photos of the Royal Palace, Palazzo Madama, outdoor market, churches, and other sights to post here, but got a few shots from the apartment balconies (inner courtyard from two of the bedroom balconies at night, and Re Umberto from the living room balcony). Alessandro was very communicative via WhatsApp throughout our stay. He was a great host and I highly recommend him and his apartment when you're in Torino!
The huge entrance door to the building is really old and there's a jiggle trick to getting the key to insert into the lock, which most of us struggled to get right. My youngest kid (19) managed to figure it out so she was responsible for getting us in at the end of the day. If I would have been there alone, it would definitely have taken me some practice to get the key to go in without feeling like I was going to break it or the lock. Otherwise, everything was absolutely perfect. In fact, I could easily live in that apartment full time!

The apartment was very clean and large in size. It has two bathrooms which is very convenient for the 3 of us.
The noise from the traffic on the street was a little loud for one of the bedrooms to sleep in.

The host was amazing and made our stay very easy. He had great tips for restaurants and things to do in Turin. The apartment is located in a beautiful house with 3 large sleeping rooms and a study with a double sofa bed. Perfect if you travel with children (toys and books are available) or a mix of couples and single people. The beds and linen were great! The two bathrooms were very new and had everything we needed (hand soap, shampoo, hairdryer, towels, etc...). The kitchen was very well appointed with salt, sugar, olive oil, kitchen towels, paper towels, and some basic breakfast necessities. Excellent option if you need several separate rooms for 6 to 10 people. It was nice that we could use the owner's parking spot in the next block. Parking on the street nearby was easy (for 1.50€/hour, 8-19h). Overall, it exceeded our expectations!
The house is not in the center, it's about a 20-25min walk to the center but there are several tram options nearby. The cost is worth the stay because the apartment is really comfortable.

Large and superb apartment with modern kitchen, 3 sleeping rooms, 2 modern bath rooms, a large living room and another study / reading room. City centre is in 10min walking distance. No noise from the street given double glazing and extra sound protection from the insight. On street parking available as well as a covered / garage parking. Little extra portion of history in the house is the fact that Primo Levi just lived one floor above.
There is nothing we did not like about the property.

Il palazzo e la sua storia, la disponibilità di Alessandro, il proprietario, ed Edoardo, il suo collaboratore. La facilità di parcheggio, la centralità del quartiere, il fascino degli arredi antichi e l'agio dei servizi moderni.
Assolutamente tutto perfetto.
