The Nest - A High Altitude Hideaway

We absolutely loved our stay at The Nest! The accommodation was immaculately clean, cosy and well-equipped. We especially loved the open fireplace, and the features that made the place feel super cosy during the blizzard! The heated bathroom floors, the electric blankets, and warm heaters were a real treat! The living areas were warm and inviting, and the kitchen was equipped with quality appliances for easy meal preparation. Jill and her husband were welcoming and very friendly - helping us with local tips, an early check-in, and even letting our dog out for a walk.

Couldn't fault it! We will definitely be back.

There was nothing not to like.

We spent 7 nights at The Nest while skiing at Perisher. Hosts were wonderful. Great communication and check in was easy. The Nest is well decorated, comfortable and clean. Kitchen is well equipped, bed is comfortable and the fireplace was excellent...it got a work out! The Nest is about a 10 minute drive from the Skitube so very convenient. The dogs were fun and there was plenty of wildlife to see on the way in/out. The turn into The Nest off the main road is a little tricky with skier traffic, but, we got used to it.

This was our first time visiting Thredbo and we weren't sure what to expect especially given there weren't that many options and we booked it fairly late. But we are so glad we have chosen to stay at The Nest in Crackenback. The apartment was beautifully decorated with immaculate furnishing and top quality appliances. The fireplace in the living room was perfect for snuggling up on the sofa after a full day of skiing. The kitchen has everything you need if you want to make your own breakfast in the morning. The bathroom has floor heating and showers are lovely. The location is also convenient - just 15mins drive from Thredbo ski resort and it feels very secluded and peaceful with nice sceneries around. The hosts Jill and Ian are both super friendly and helpful. Even though you are staying on their property, you still get plenty of privacy. We would definitely come back here again next time we come skiing!
