Tetro Rock Retreat

House was spacious clean and had all amenities. Large bedrooms for 5 adults, as well as a garage to park motorcycles in. Staff was very friendly and helped get us into the right house while visiting. Paved roads from deadwood to Lead.

The log cabin was great. We loved the carpentry and craftsmanship in the construction.

The road leading to the property sucks. It was stated that an SUV was advised. We had 2 cars, one being a GMC Acadia which is an SUV. The Acadia was dragging bottom in a couple of places. What should be disclosed is that Google maps will take you through Lead SD to an impassable dead end. You need to take Mt. Roosevelt to get to Tetro Rock Road. The paved road is very narrow with very little clearance. The dirt road starts off OK but quickly becomes very rocky rugged terrain best suited for a Jeep or high ground clearance vehicle, good tires and shocks are advised. The dirt portion of the road was 2.2 miles and took us 20 minutes to reach the house. It was raining heavily when we arrived which didn't help the condition of the road. The road is in need of grading. I am not over reacting as I live in the desert and drive on a mile of sand to get to my house everyday.

Home was very nice.

Wasps, hornets (dead and live) were not fun. Tried to enjoy the deck but had to head inside. Nests from up in rafters dropped bugs in our drinks, and many buzzing around us. I understand in that type of location you’re going to have insects but it was over the top. If nests were taken care of it might be better. Road was not fun at all. Minimum maintenance not a true description.
