Very clean, modern unit with easy access. Across the street from Esplanade park. Unit actually has air con which is great on the hotter days.

Shower never got hot, just room temperature. If you want to go into old town it’s a 10-15 minute walk.

Really liked the interior. Apartment has everything needed for a quiet short stay. Windows are facing the backyard, not the street, so there’s hardly any noise. It was clean. Air conditioner was really nice, was looking for a place with it and it was worth it 100%. Cool TV with stream services. Narvesen nearby, supermarket within 8m walking path, tram station just downstairs and also a cool place for breakfast “Madam Brioshe” in the same building (originally I was skeptics about it since it has 3.9 rating in Google, but we had breakfast there 2 times and it seemed perfect and tasty). Around 12m on foot to autobus/railway station, we made it without any transport to/from the place.

There was some smell from the bathroom, but it didn’t cause any discomfort I guess. Also the apartment is on the 5th floor and elevator seems to be old, we didn’t risk trying to use it - however this didn’t affect us in a bad way, just that somebody might not enjoy the stairs:)

Absolutely lovely place, very close to the Old Town and the main attractions. The host was helpful and caring, and allowed us to leave our baggage before the check-in time which was a huge plus. The apartment has everything you need for a few nights.

The pillows were a little small.

Location is ideal. The bed is very comfortable. The shower pressure is exceptional. It is a delightful flat for a solo traveller who packs light. Big, bright windows that open.

Booking.com needs to sort out more nuanced questions to book local drivers regarding arrival times and customs clearance. My driver texted me he had arrived 5 min. after my flight landed, he left 10 minutes later when I had just arrived in the customs line, never mind the 1.5 hours to get through the line. If you hold an EU passport, you can fly through customs. If you do not, it takes ages. If you arrive on a flight from Uzbekistan, it takes even longer, as the Uzbeks need visas to travel to Latvia, so it is slower to clear the large flight. Booking.com, or the hosts, need to sort this out. Luckily, the airport wifi works, and I had set up an eSIM, which I used to download and use BOLT to get a lift to town. The communication was not wonderful. I received the location information well after I landed, which meant that I did not know where I was going precisely. Luckily, the cafe downstairs, Madam Brios, is a marvel. They have delicious snacks, good coffee and Wifi.
