About this cottage rental

Newly updated lake cottage on one of Indiana's cleanest lakes! If you're looking for rest and relaxation this is the place!

North Twin lake is a non sport private lake, making it perfect for your family to swim, kayak, fish or just relax. There are no speed boats or jet ski's. Message me for details.

This adorable cottage sleeps 4-6 people, we offer 3 Queen size beds. One full size bedroom and two lofts each with a Queen bed. Keep in mind that to access the lofts you will need to be able to climb a ladder for access. The lake is just steps away and we have a private deck to sit and watch the kids play or just soak up the sun!
We are only an hour from Kalamazoo, MI, South Bend, IN, and Fort Wayne, IN. Shipshewana is a short 10-15 minute drive. You'll get to know some of our Amish neighbors when you visit Shipshewana. Shipshewana has a flea market and authentic homestyle Amish cooking and even horse drawn carriage rides!
The 80-90 Tollroad is about 10 minutes from the house. Shopping is conveniently located 15 minutes north in Sturgis where you'll find a Walmart, Meijer, Walgreens, CVS, and many restaurants!

Our home is smoke free and pet free and we vigorously disinfect the entire home after each stay. We wash ALL linens and bedding, including comforters after EVERY guest!

Newly updated lake cottage on one of Indiana's cleanest lakes! If you're looking for rest and relaxation this is the place!

This adorable cottage sleeps 4-6 people, we offer 3 Queen size beds. One full size bedroom and two lofts each with a Queen bed. The owners have done a beautiful job with the cottage and responded quickly to my questions. Just beware that the two loft beds are accessed by a narrow ladder and the head space is very low. It is the mattress only with no extra space. Best suited for children. It was challenge for my 60 friend and I to get up and down! The master bedroom has a beautiful view and the AC works very well. Would also recommend a ladder on the dock to help get out of the lake.

Place was very clean and recently renovated. Neighbors were very friendly. Only downfall was you couldn’t get into the water from the dock and wade. It was very overgrown. We were able to get out in the water with kayaks onsite and we brought our own tubes and paddle board, so we paddled out and went swimming. Water was clean and refreshing. The fire pit was an unexpected added bonus. Nice to sit by the fire and lake at night.

Very peaceful and quiet and clean! Pontoon was fabulous! It was a lot of stairs to climb due to the living room on one floor and the kitchen on another. Also no railing on the outside steps so it was difficult to navigate! But over all a nice clean quiet place to stay on a beautiful lake!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoy the consistently peaceful tranquility of staying at this cottage. Especially in the evenings, it almost seems as though man-made noise is non-existent! Our times of staying here are weekdays, so I can't speak for the weekends. I can speak for the charming hosts, though, who are there fast if you need them, and go out of their way to be non-intrusive when you don't! Highly recommended!

Charming Lake Cottage is a peaceful lovely getaway. The cottage was very clean inside, and Lisa was a great host. The lake is clear and we enjoyed kayaking, and bird watching from the deck. The neighbors are wonderful. For fun, check out the pumpkin vine trail in Middlebury. Pumpkinvine Cyclery rents bike for the day. Very relaxing week!

It is a lovely quaint lake cottage with lake frontage. The frontage wasn’t exactly swimmable with all the natural growth but the growth was lovely if you like it. The inside was clean and cozy; the outside could use some cleaning. The beds were comfortable the location was convenient and not too far from everything.

we truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back! A couple of suggestions about the place: 1) I am totally fine with no Wifi but we the lighting is less than ideal for reading (sometime that is nice to do if there is no internet)... I would suggest a couple of more reading lamps in the living/main room and one in the bedroom by the chair. 2) I think a washer/dryer would be nice - especially if it's summer time and kids (and adults) are doing stuff on the lake. But otherwise a very nice, clean place!

We stayed here for a quick anniversary getaway weekend. It was so peaceful and wonderful. The perfect place to unwind and unplug. Easy access to Shipshewana and other area small towns. Property was just as pictured--a charming cottage. Lake view from the master bedroom was spectacular. The double loft spaces worked well. Just keep in mind if you are particularly tall, it could be challenging for headroom. Also, the lofts are accessed by a ladder which wasn't a problem for us, but could be for others. I brought a portable fan which helped to cool off the loft space for sleeping. Lots of space great space inside and out. Host was responsive and easy to work with. Would definitely stay again.

This was our first time using Vrbo & we were able to book with remarkably short notice & simplicity! We planned on visiting nearby spots, but got so hooked on the peacefulness here that we only left for groceries during the week. "Well-maintained" was used in a prior review, and we whole-heartedly second the opinion! Plan on packing some paper products if needed, but the kitchen is fully equipped with quality appliances, cookware, dinnerware & glassware. Beds & seating are great. The size of the lake was perfect for us to enjoy. We rented the boat 1 of our days & it was also just the right size for us, safe and reliable. It takes about an hour to putt the perimeter of the lake if you choose. My wife & I enjoyed several laps around throughout the day. Without asking for it, the host did an amazing job making sure we weren't interrupted by anyone, especially themselves, but they were prompt & responsive to every question.

We rented this cottage with 6 family members (3 adults and 3 children), and we had a great time. The hosts were super responsive to any questions we had and very kind. Turn up the AC once you get in bc the top floor is very warm which is where all the beds are located. The ladders to the loft beds were challenging for the 4 year old, but worked ok for the 6 and 7 year old. The host supplied bath towels, washcloths,3 beach towels, 2 rolls of paper towels, trash bags, Kleenex, 2 rolls of toilet paper, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, k cups and sweetener, and some other small items. We also rented the kayaks and pontoon which were great to have for the trip and easy to use both. As far as improvements, it would be great to have a broom and dustpan (just for stuff that got tracked into the house or crumbs from the kids snacking) without having to get out the vacuum and blinds/curtains for the upstairs family room bc there are so many windows where people are trying to sleep and so the sun coming up early in the summer had the room very bright. There’s only curtains in the single bedroom. Overall a great stay!
