The location was great (provided driving!) and super easy and convenient self check in with comfortable timings. The room had everything we needed and was kept at a comfortable temperature despite it being February. Also had great views of the coos!
My partner did not find the memory foam bed and pillows as comfortable and the slight differences between lodges weren't obvious on booking - though they look similar, it mostly just varies the feeling of privacy and views.

And can there be anything better than having beautiful Highland cows right outside your window? 😀
Maybe a wee carton of real milk in the fridge? I appreciate though that the UHT provided (plus irn bru, crisps and biscuits) was a lovely touch.
Also (and no fault of the owners) quite tricky to get to if you don't have a car. Make sure you book taxis well ahead if needed.

I didn't get any meals, this was a self catering facility
The kitchen would be better with a proper oven rather than the small one provided.

The property was amazing everything you need for a few days away! Couldn’t fault it at all! Was very clean! Owners were nice!
Absolutely nothing! Can’t fault it

Remote area, beautiful views, exceptionally clean. Great facilities. Just over all a great stay!
Its not that I didnt like anything just a bit of feedback, the facilities were great and the little complementary bits that were included bonus! So thoughtful.
Just maybe some bigger plates & bowls but nothing major and we made it work!

Loved how peaceful and the view was also very nice, just what my wife needed after surgery during recovery time.
The light set up was either to bright or to dull but managed a compromise, also couldnt get teresterial T.V but also got round it

Everything was warm and welcoming, and the accommodation had everything we needed — even cans of Irn-Bru waiting for us in the fridge when we arrived!
I chose this place because of the Highland Cows, and it did not disappoint — our daughter absolutely loved seeing them every day!
The location was fantastic. We spent two days exploring Edinburgh and a day at the National Flight Museum (which is well worth a visit!). We loved every minute of our stay!

Parking was very secure and well organised.
The Highland cattle were nearby in the field next to the accommodation — not too close, but lovely to see.
It was great to be in that kind of peaceful, rural environment.
The accommodation was good.
Overall, I had a really pleasant stay with no negative thoughts.

Not much. It was just outside the town of Haddington so was reasonably quiet.
Just about everything. Inadequate signage making it hard to find the property. The cottage was unclean with old tired sheets and bedding and a stale smelling duvet. One of the towels provided had a 1 inch round hole in it. There was inadequate space even for our small amount of luggage. The carpet was frayed. The tv set was precariously balanced on a table that was too small for it. The bed was small with very little space around it. The mattress was lumpy and uncomfortable. The car park was too cramped. The accommodation was too small and needed a lick of paint, inside and out. The small settee was uncomfortable. At just under £100 a night for the standard of accommodation that it is, was poor value.
We paid for 3 nights but left after 1 night. The landlord refused to give us any money back.

What a lovely place to stay - comfortable and great location for exploring the East Lothian area. Although never personally met the hosts, they were in communication with me throughout the booking and provided me with all the info I need to access the property and use the amenities. Beds were great! As were the Highland Cows in the field.

Very good clean unit with everything you need, including a well equipped kitchenette. Nice outlook onto fields with highland cows.
Excellent instructions re parking and access to the property.
The TV signal and WiFi weren't great but I was only there one night so not a huge problem.

We loved the homely vibe with this farm stay, topped off by being able to watch the sunset, outside watching the highland cows. Everything was just perfect thank you😊

1. Left alone - no one to deal with for checkin etc.
2. Very tranquil location.
3. Loved the highland cattle outside
4. They have dogs, but they never, ever made any noise at all. Very weel trained
1. Car is def required - Haddington is a mile away and requires walking on the verge, which at night, after a few shandies, could be dangerous
2. AC would help as it did get very hot this summer and the lodhe seemed to really heat up, even at night.
3. The driveway is blind, so pulling out in rushour would be challenging.

The location was the best feature of this accommodation- away from the hustle and bustle of tourist attractions, busy roads and noise. We appreciated being able to look out at green fields, cattle and nature.
The accommodation was very cramped with nowhere to place our luggage. More space could be achieved if the wardrobe was removed (it is redundant anyway as the door can't be opened due to a table and chair located in front of it) and the TV being wall mounted instead of being placed on a chest of drawers which are also not needed. The room was unbearably hot, despite opening the window and using the very small fan provided, due to the central heating being turned on remotely by the owners, with no means of guests being able to turn it off. Why it was deemed necessary to turn on the heating in summer on 20+ degree days is a mystery. The toilet was also very difficult to flush and the cistern handle was broken and kept falling off.

The surroundings were stunning , and the cows well they were stunning , but gutted they were never in the field right outside our lodge but honestly they were beautiful - the bed was probably the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in in a hotel ! The shower was also brilliant .
There was a huge damp stain on the carpet , it may have been from just the previous guests but it was pretty unsightly , the walls also so thin could hear next door talking which is what it is but worth mentioning .

The room was amazing! Very clean, very welcoming. Fridge was stocked with juice, there were crisps and snacks, there was even Netflix logged in on the tv! The beds were super comfortable much comfier than my bed at home. The staff were so accommodating to my requests with very quick replies. Couldn’t fault this place. Wouldn’t 100% stay again :)

The Highland cattle were lovely. It was peaceful and quite even though on a busy road. Bed very comfy but could of done with a lighter weight duvet. The supply of tea, sugar, coffee and nibbles were appreciated. Well equipped with kitchen utensils etc.
Not being able to open the window very wide, it was quite warm whilst we were staying, although a fan was provided. Would of been nice to have blinds or net curtains at the windows for abit more privacy as visitors in the other lodges have to pass by.

Pasture and Highland cows were amazing!! Staff was very friendly and helpful..
It was the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept in with the Metal bar across the middle of the mattress .
Parking is a little hard to maneuver . But really loved the scenery.

A nice little cabin on the edge of Haddington, not far from Musselburgh and Edinburgh. Very quiet! Minimal kitchen so don't plan to do much cooking. As others have noted, the hairy coos are excellent neighbours.
More thought could have gone in to the choice of furniture: the dining chairs were extremely uncomfortable, with needlessly sharp corners, and there was room for a bigger (& more comfortable) bed if the bedside tables were replaced with smaller ones.

Absolutely amazing location, beautiful views and easy to get into Edinburgh. Haddington itself is a wonderful little town and well worth visiting! Was lovely watching the cows! The lodge was quiet, comfortable and really well equiped. We loved our stay here and will be coming back!

Nice position really close to Haddington which is lovely.
Tiny bed. Not big enough for a couple. Especially when one is 6 foot 5inches.

Could do with a refresh, small patches of mould in bathroom and by door.

Location was perfect for day trips to Edinburgh at less cost. Jazelle was helpful and very responsive.

The property was really comfortable and the staff had gone to lengths to make it feel welcoming.
The rooms need some TLC. We struggled to get our key to turn the lock of the lodge door, and there’s noticeable signs of mould around the door and in the bathroom.

Very clean, well-equipped, and the owners of the lodge were responsive.
Definitely need a car for staying here unless you’re well in shape. Ha!
