About this cabin rental

Overview
NEW beautifully decorated 2300 sq. ft. cabin on 1.6 acres just 6 miles north of restaurants and a brewery. Nestled in the Ouachita National Forest, cabin offers privacy with 2 king master suites, a loft with 2 queen/twin bunks, and 3 full baths. The downstairs deck has outdoor seating, dining, a grill, hot tub, fireplace, fire pit, cornhole and a playset. The upstairs deck has a great view, a bar, seating and foosball and game room with an old school arcade with over 500 games, pool/air hockey/ping pong table, and board games. Smart TVs in every room and plenty of parking. Firepit and playset on-site.

The Master Suites
Two Master Suites with ensuite baths boast king size beds, luxurious linens, beautiful furnishings, and custom robes. The ensuite baths feature double vanities, free-standing soaking tubs and walk-in showers.

The Great Room
A breathtaking view of the pines transports you as arrive at the cabin. Two sofas and a 55" inch TV invite you to curl up with a good book in front of the fire in the winter months or settle in for some great conversation with a cool beverage in the summer time.

The Kitchen
The kitchen is stocked with everything you will need in your home away from home from indoor and outdoor dishes to an inviting coffee bar to enjoy as you Awake in the Forest. With modern appliances and everything you need to prepare a delicious meal at your fingertips, you may never want to leave.

The Decks
Our cabin features over 1000 sq. ft. of upstairs and downstairs decking to enjoy the outdoors and endless views of the pines unobstructed by nearby cabins. Gather around the outdoor fireplace, enjoy an evening meal cooked on the grill after a game of corn hole, or wind down your evening after a hike by relaxing in the hot tub on the downstairs deck. Catch the game and enjoy a beverage at the bar on the upstairs deck.

The Game and Bunk Room
The game room boasts two sets of bunks with twin beds atop queen-size beds, a comfy sofa and a 55" TV, and a full bath with walk-in shower. Enjoy a game of pool, air hockey or ping pong on our 3-in-1 game table, or a game of Galaga, Street Fighters and the Simpsons on our retro arcade game with over 500 games. Board games are also available for your enjoyment.

The Firepit and Play Set
No trip to a cabin is complete without making s'mores over a fire pit. With seating for 8, relax while watching your children play the day away on the backyard play set.

Location
The cabin is located just minutes from ATV trails and a few miles from the scenic hiking trails in Beavers Bend State Park. Spend the day on Broken Bow Lake boating, jet skiing, tubing, swimming or fishing. Mountain Fork River offers great trout and bass fishing. Enjoy local restaurants, wineries and breweries before heading back to our cozy cabin.

This place was beautiful! Clean and spacious. We had a great time. It’s around other cabins but surrounded by trees that make it feel secluded. It’s just enough away from all the crazy! We appreciated all the essentials provided and all the amenities available to us. We even talked about coming back in the fall. Perfect spot to getaway for our big kids and the small one.

We enjoyed our stay in “Awake in the Forest” . We enjoyed all of the amenities. We had lots of room for our 5 boys . Cabin was beautiful and clean . The Christmas tree was a nice touch to still have up when we arrived . This was our third trip to the area and we enjoyed our time !

The cabin was wonderful and very clean. The upstairs was PERFECT for teens and children. The size and layout was perfect for our situation, grandparents and teens/kids. We had no issues with the property itself and loved the location and privacy. In considering this location, be warned the road to the cabin has HUGE potholes so if you drive a small car, this is not for you.

We stayed three nights in this beautiful home with two families, including four kids ranging from 11 months old to 8 years old. The house owners were open and available with communication. Check in and check out were clearly explained and very easy to follow. The backyard playground was perfect for the kiddos, and we all enjoyed backyard games, the hot tub, and of course, roasting s’mores on the fire. The house was beautifully furnished, and the mattresses were very comfortable! We cooked most of our meals at the house, and the kitchen was supplied with everything we needed. I highly recommend this property!!

Owner was very responsive and communicative when we had to reach out to them. Description of property and pictures were very accurate and there’s so much space for our entire group. Just note that the top bunks are intended for children, so the bottom bunks will have to share depending on how many people you have. We brought an air mattress for a 3rd person sharing the bunk room and it worked out great.

We had a fabulous stay at Awake in the Forest! The house looks exactly like the picture and had plenty of space for our family (husband, wife, two kids, and two grandparents). Everything we needed to enjoy our weekend was there and all the special touches were nice. The beds were incredibly comfortable and my husband fell in love with their pots/pans/cookware. The family favorites were easily the game table upstairs and the firepit where we made smores. 5 star stay across the board!

Great property with lots of things to keep everyone entertained inside and out. We enjoyed a Christmas break here and did not need to leave the property as there was plenty to do including a good couple of runs and walks right from our doorstep. The heating is a little challenging due to the high ceilings which can mean the upstairs room is hotter than downstairs, not helped by the Texas weather being so changeable! But it did not distract from an overall enjoyable and recharging break for our family!

The cabin was nicely stocked with entertainment which we used due to the rain. It was nice to have the cornhole and air hockey table and the hot tub! My only complaint is that the refrigerator didn’t have filtered water so we had to stock up on bottled water. The beds were also very comfortable.

Overall this was a wonderful set up that came with everything needed to have a great active weekend getaway. This is just me being picky, but there were no napkins, some showers didn’t have any soap available and the coffee jar was empty. But again, small things that we had no issue navigating around. Didn’t hinder the experience.

It rained most of the weekend but there is a lot of covered outdoor patio space, to enjoy a cup of tea on the porch swing, watch TV in front of the fireplace, relax in the hot tub. The upstairs had plenty of entertainment to keep the kids busy. I would book this property again!

What a great cabin for a family. Plenty of space to relax and kids to play. Cabin was extremely clean, well stocked, and beautiful outside spaces. The 2 master suites were roomy, bathrooms amazing. The upstairs loft was the kids favorite part of the house with the pool table, games and arcade game. All beds were comfy and bathrooms stocked with essentials. We cooked every meal and had all essential items we needed. We will definitely be back!

This cabin is absolutely beautiful, full of amenities to make you feel right at home…but better! Seriously, my mom wants to move in! My toddler absolutely loved the playground and game room loft. The property managers were so helpful and responsive. We’ve stayed at other cabins and this one is second to none. Perfect for a family or friends getaway. We’ll be back!

We had a great time! We got rained out of all of our activities we had planned but there was sooo much to do at the cabin, it really didn’t matter. It was super private and comfortable. I actually didn’t even mind being rained out bc the cabin had everything we needed. This place would be prefect in the fall/winter. We had a few hiccups but the owners fixed them immediately and even made up for them. They were awesome! I would definitely recommend staying at AWAKE IN THE FOREST.

This cabin has everything you need to enjoy a peaceful stay, they literally thought of everything. The decor is fabulous. The host replies back quickly if you have any questions or concerns. This is by far the BEST cabin we have ever stayed in. I highly recommend giving this one a try and you won’t be disappointed.

This cabin was close enough to attractions but far enough away from things to relax. Everything you could possibly need to make your stay worry free was included. We did have a hiccup when checking in because we could not figure out the locking system, but it was easily resolved by contacting the property owner. We had to figure out how to work the AC to keep the place cool and the trick with all the remotes for the lights and fan motors, but once we did we stayed cool. The place was BEAUTIFUL!! It provided us super comfy beds that we didn’t want to get out of in the morning. We would recommend staying here in the future. We had a great time.

We loved our short time at Awake in the Forest. Starting with the booking process-communication with Courtney was fast and smooth as can be. The photos are very accurate-you can expect the house to look exactly like the pictures and description. Check in was very easy and their guidebook PDF/binder was incredible! So much helpful info. It answered any questions we could have had. They make everything as easy as can be with everything from QR codes that connect to wifi, to a well stacked list of restaurants and things to do in the area. The house itself was incredible. Brand new and very clean. Very well stocked with everything you could need-bathrooms had plenty of nice towels, travel size toiletries and even bath salts, q tips, and a candle! The kitchen had everything we needed for preparing all of our meals. There was a spice rack with your basic spices, plenty of dishes and silverware, paper towels, dish pods, Clorox wipes and more. The bedrooms had plenty of pillows&there were cozy blankets all over the home. 1 thing we loved was every light switch was labeled-no guessing!! Now onto the amenities: we chose this location because we wanted a couple nights to refresh and relax after a long trip to visit family. We didn’t want to leave the cabin at all, so having plenty to do was important. I was traveling with my family of 6 including myself, my husband and 4 elementary aged kids. There was plenty for all of us to do. The game console was a huge hit with every arcade game you could want. The game tables kept everyone busy with foosball, pool, air hockey and ping pong. There were board games and nice TVs in every room and outdoors. The hot tub was perfect and the playset was a lot of fun for the kids. We didn’t spend a ton of time outside because it was so hot, but there was such good outdoor space here with a cute front porch with chairs and a swing, a large back deck with a huge sectional, grill, big dining table, a cornhole set, fireplace, tv and hot tub, and upstairs off the game room another large deck with a bar area, tv, dining and lounging furniture. We could have stayed a lot longer than 2 nights and never gotten bored! Our only complaint is that we expected from the aerial photo for it to be more secluded than it was. There were some pretty noisy neighbors very late into the night, and the house is close to the highway so there was some traffic noise. Overall wouldn’t deter us from recommending, just something to know up front!

I am not one for hyperbole, but I wish I could give more stars. As a working-outside-the-home mom of 3 (ages 6, 4 and 5 months), I was yearning for a getaway to connect with my best friend from college and her family (ages 7 & 5) without mom-guilt or giving up the amenities of home. Awake In the Forest did not disappoint! For this nursing mom who needed rest, the master bed (big enough for a dockatot and me and hubby), soaking tub (with bubble bath) and robes were so comfy. For meals, the kitchen (and grill) had everything we needed (we brought our own cooking oil & spices & food). For connection, we had the front porch, the back patio, the upstairs patio, fire pit and hot tub for conversation. Most importantly, the kids were 100% entertained with the arcade, air hockey, foosball, video games and games so the adults could actually enjoy themselves. As a type-A person, I especially appreciated the Cabin Guide which provided everything. The owner even provided us a list of firework shows for the weekend (we were visiting during July 4th). Can't wait to stay again!

We stayed here for a girls trip with a group of 5. Everything shown on the listing was completely accurate. There are several different spaces in the house to hang out. We spent most of our time at the cabin because it was so functional (fire pit, hot tub, grill, two outdoor patios, game room, etc). At one point the internet stopped working and the host immediately called the internet provider to fix it. They also sent a little treat to apologize for the outage! I would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again.

We had everything we needed to accommodate our family including the kiddos. Actually, the adults got a kick out of playing some of our childhood games inside the cabin such as table tennis. The kitchen was beautifully stocked and organized with everything we needed to cook our anniversary dinner and other meals. We will make this another home away from home destination and highly recommend this cabin to others.

This cabin is one of the best we have stayed in! The amenities are great and spacious. The yard area is large with room for the kids to play, however, be aware of poison ivy (a lot) in the woods. Other than keeping a close eye to keep the kids out of the woods, the cabin is perfect. We didn’t mind the small drive into Hochatown. Will definitely stay again!
