We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Compass Rose. Jenny, our host did a great job of checking us in and then assisting us in getting to the ferry when we left the island. This a a great location and the house had everything we needed and more. The interior is a little more dated than it appears in the photos, and will possibly be in need of some upgrades soon, but this did not detract from our stay in any meaningful way. Overall this was a great experience.

Jenny was the perfect contact from the time of booking until checkout. She communicated well and quickly even when weather kept changing plans when checking out. We loved the beach, the shells and the location of the home including all the wonderful views from the different decks!! The supplies in the kitchen made preparing 3 meals/day and dessert for 10 people all week quite easy. Additional features the home offered: garage, washer/dryer, extra refrigerator space, outside shower, pool, beach chairs, outside game space and ample seating in and out of the home! Over many years we have stayed in VRBO homes in many different countries and states. For the price of the rental our critique includes: The home has not been well maintained (curtains partially covering windows, hanging off rods and some window coverings don’t work at all. Some interior and exterior doors that don’t close all the way and/or don’t lock), was generally not very clean (as we searched under furniture to make sure we didn’t forget anything we found trash from previous occupants), had roach and bug “houses” in cabinets, under furniture and in drawers, the lighting in the kitchen was poor. Most beds needed a few extra pillows as most people sleep with at least 2 pillows per person.

We loved our stay at the Compass Rose. Everything is exactly as advertised. It's probably closer to the beach than it looks. The house is great and the decks offer amazing views. It was a lovely, quiet stay. Communication with the owners was easy and fast and Jenny met us at the dock with our golf cart, gave us a quick tour of the island, and helped us settle in to the house. We had 2 kids under 10, 2 parents , 1 grandma, and 2 dogs. The house was large enough for everyone to have room to do their own thing. We would definitely stay there again. Thanks for everything.
