Linhal das Meias - São José das Matas

A cute and welcoming countryside home. We were lucky enough to have the place all to ourselves during our stay, and we loved every minute of it. The owners were incredibly attentive and understanding, always happy to help with any questions or requests we had. Already missing those slow mornings outdoors, with the geese and chickens keeping us company. It made for a wonderfully peaceful stay.

This is a house on a farm. Imagine going to grandmother's house with all her things there, set up as in her day. I loved the hand embelished linens, alentejo plate collection, old games, kitchen, dining room, living room and bedrooms. There are 2 bedrooms below which share the downstairs bathroom and 2.5 bedrooms above which share an upstairs bathroom. The farm is large with an orchard & chickens. The farmer lives on the farm with his family and mother in the other 2 houses.

Local encantador, com muito carinho em todos os detalhes. A casa está cuidada para manter a autenticidade. Existe mesmo assim todo o conforto e convite para descansar e aproveitar o momento. O anfitrião é muito simpático e deixou-nos à vontade. A aldeia é muito bonita e bem estimada.

The owners are very kind, helpful and nice. Their hospitaly is proverbial. The Madame prepares an art for eating and her food of art can bee seen and is very eatable, with one word, amazing. The couple also produce delicious wine, oranges, mandarines, olives. My car war broken down and they helped me to find solution. Mr. owner brought a mehanic to see my car and the next day I was able to drive further. All this property has a soul, because the wooden interial equipment is made with love. Food, Cosy fire place with the real wood stocks, clean and nice prepared beds, excellent food. Just for lovers of life. To get some rest after the dinner or breakfast, there is always back side music, a library with the plenty of books in different languages and wiev on the garden, wineyards. But now in October Orange and the lemon trees are full of fruits. The harvest will be wealty. They also have a small pound with gold fishes, two free-living chickens and of course two dogs.
