Welcome to ShangriLog—a name inspired by the mythical paradise of Shangri-La, celebrated for its untouched beauty, serenity, and harmony with nature. This stunning 3,000 sq. ft. waterfront log home on Bull Lake in Northwest Montana embodies that same sense of peaceful escape, offering breathtaking views of the Cabinet Mountains and the surrounding wilderness. Located just 30 minutes from Troy, ShangriLog is the perfect all-season retreat for families, couples, and groups looking to unwind, explore, and reconnect with nature.
Built in 2006 by an Amish craftsman from Western Montana, this beautifully maintained home sits along 85 feet of private shoreline on the crystal-clear Bull Lake. With 22 miles of scenic shoreline, the lake is ideal for fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding, and boating. Whether you’re savoring a home-cooked meal in the fully equipped kitchen, curling up by the fireplace, or enjoying drinks on the deck, you’ll be surrounded by expansive lake and mountain views from nearly every room.
Inside the Home
The main floor welcomes you with a warm entryway and a central stone fireplace. The open-concept kitchen flows into the inviting living area and out onto a spacious deck with unobstructed views of Bull Lake and the Cabinet Mountains. Large windows throughout the home invite in natural light and showcase the surrounding beauty.

• Bedroom 2: Bunk bed (full bottom, twin top)

• Laundry Room: Washer and dryer for guest use
• Second Master Suite: Queen bed plus a twin bed with private balcony access
• Ensuite Bathroom: Soaking tub and single sink

• The Yaak (45 minutes): Explore dramatic wilderness and rivers, or stop by the rustic Yaak River Tavern
• Bad Medicine Campground: Nearby boat launch and swimming area
• Halfway House Bar and Grill: Local spot on Highway 56 with great food and seasonal outdoor events
• Libby Golf Course: A beautiful nearby course for golf lovers
• Winter: Snowshoe, snowmobile on Keeler Mountain, or ski Turner Mountain in Libby

In 2023, a fire affected the driveway side of the property. While the lakeside, interior, and overall guest experience remain completely intact and beautiful, the driveway is still in the process of being restored. You may notice building materials, two parked trailers, and a truck in the area at times. The site has been professionally cleaned, tested, and cleared as safe by the fire marshal. We truly appreciate your understanding as we continue this work and believe the comfort of the home and its peaceful lakefront setting far outweigh any temporary visual impact.
A True Wilderness Experience
This area remains uncrowded and naturally preserved. You won’t find large resorts or commercial attractions—just genuine Montana wilderness and friendly, quiet communities. Wildlife sightings are common and may include deer, elk, eagles, moose, or even bears. Always be mindful when exploring outdoors and practice bear safety.

We loved our time at the cabin on Bull Lake. Weather was a little cooler but very enjoyable.

Loved our stay at the shangrilog. Beautiful home and setting. The water was pretty shallow at the end of the dock. It was 2 feet 9 inches when we were there in July. We had to go out on our boat to swim because we were concerned about swimmers itch in shallow water. Karayn was very quick to respond and a great host!

We were highly impressed with this beautiful cabin on the lake. It was beyond adequately stocked with necessities and even extra fun items as well. Plenty of bedding, kitchen supplies, spices and even some random food items, including wine. The views were amazing and all the outside play items (badmitton, bowling, jenga, etc) were a super fun bonus for the kiddos.

We loved staying in this lovely home that has lots of rooms, a great kitchen and a dock we used for swimming, floating around and just hanging out on. Great communication with the owner who answered all our questions and was really helpful.
