Walk to Walnut St Shadyside House with Deck

I liked that the basement rooms had no windows - that was great for my baby. I appreciated the well stocked kitchen and if the weather had been nicer the patio would have been great.

I felt like there was way too much scent in the air so we unplugged all of the scent plugs.

Everything was great! Very welcoming, comfortable and clean. Nice area in the back for relaxing and having a few drinks with privacy. Walnut street is right behind the rental. I did shopping, breakfast, got a tattoo and had some drinks. They also had live music one night and food trucks! We had a great time and will definitely rent again if available. Our host replied to us with in 30 min with answers to questions. Very friendly and we appreciated such quick response.

The only thing I would mention and it didn’t affect us but, bedrooms are in the basement with a very small stairwell. For an older adult or someone with bad knees or disabilities it might be an issue. They do have two very comfortable sofa beds in the living room and they worked for us. If you need privacy that might be the only issue.

A lot of great things about this place! Entering on the back deck and into the kitchen is a real pleasure… that outdoor space is great! The main floor with kitchen dining living and a full bath was very comfortable and home like. The kitchen is fully equipped, well lit and well laid out… we really used it and really enjoyed it. The living room has lots of light and just the detail of the blinds themselves really high-quality and easy to use and made it feel very elegant. Nice sleeper couches and little touches like books and games. The thermostat was so convenient and easy to use. There were some, what I would call significant issues. A good bed of tile in the kitchen is broken due to the subfloor, not being a high integrity and it is frankly dangerous to walk on the kitchen floor barefoot. This facility is not really conducive to tall people as the basement, where all of the bedrooms are, is very low but finished pretty well. The bedrooms are really small and the beds are in both cases like just a foot or so away from the wall and I hit my shins quite a bit on the bedframe. Also, the mattress was just really bad. It had wells on both sides and a big hump in the middle due to the frame being a double frame and a rigid bar through the middle. Pillows were great though. I personally do not fleece and those were the only blankets available that I could find. Lucky I didn’t need one, but My partner did. And I guess the only other thing was that the downstairs bathroom sink did not drain well.

Fully equipped house. Very clean and comfortable. Great location, nice parking spot in the back.

Coffee situation. I was told there was a Keurig machine and K-cup would be available. None were provided. A kettle for boiling water for tea would be a nice addition to the kitchen. Wasn't expecting bedrooms in the basement. The low ceiling bump out to the bathroom was a bit difficult to maneauver without hitting your head if you are a tall person.
