English Oaks

We loved our Christmas stay at English Oaks! The creek was rather high so sadly we couldn’t use the outside lower patios but that’s okay. Ember was an amazing host so welcoming and great with communication!!! The beds were beyond comfy, the propane fire stove provided great heat and a comfy cozy feeling to the living room area. We enjoyed playing the games in the evening and hosting family for dinner. The two stoves made it easy to roast our Christmas ham and bake all the side dishes. The property was pet friendly and we loved meeting Embers dogs River and Skye. I enjoyed Rivers daily visits for love.

Great place for kids to play and enjoy Spanish Creek. Lots of room to spread out. We had 5 kids and 3 adults, and our 4-day stay in July was fun for all !Diane in Quincy

It is a lovely property and in a very nice location. Unfortunately, we were there during a heat spell, and the two small air conditioners they have are woefully inadequate to cool the house down. It was still 80 degrees outside at 10 at night, and warmer in the house. They have fans, but it was too hot to sleep well. A box fan for the bedroom window would have helped. We left a day earlier than planned because we were worn down and miserable. We expected to eat the cost. Amber , the manager was very nice and refunded the third night to us. Also be aware that you need to bring drinking water with you. They said the well water is safe to drink but it is kinda brown and smells funky. Not sure how it tastes. We are train buffs, and enjoyed seeing the railroad and the trains.
