2 bed Haywood Cottage with garden

Property was in a good location for countryside and beach walks people were really friendly

Property was in need of a bit maintenance work and cleaning there was a lot of dust and cobwebs but it has great potential with a bit of TLC

Wonderful little cottage, perfect size for four in a quiet town. Well positioned to explore North Berwick, Dunbar and Haddington. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well kitted out. Very easy to get in.

The shower was unfortunately not working while we were there, which the host told us about when we arrived. Could still use the shower attachment while sitting in the tub so nothing major and it sounded like this would be fixed soon.

Lovely cottage, it felt so homey and was a cosy stay away from home. The cottage was clean and tidy when we arrived, the kitchen was well stocked (apart from a soup ladle) and the house was warm. The location is also good, not far from Dunbar and a stroll down high street or the Dunbar train station for a quick journey to Edinburgh.

The beds. Both us and the couple we were travelling with thought the beds are in need of an upgrade to bigger king size beds with a new mattress.

I hadn't understood from the description that the garden was separate from the house and over the other side of the road. I'd chosen it thinking it was a good space attached to the house so the children could be outside but as a result we barely used it. After initial glance, the property was not as clean as I would have expected, and there were lots of spiders that my husband had to get out. There were issues with the drains, so the house smelled badly. When it rained we couldn't stay in the kitchen as a result. The owner said they were not aware and would get a plumber to look into it but a neighbour said they have had to raise attention to it previously as if not cleaned regularly this happens. The property is certainly feeling tired and in need of some attention. Once upon a time it would have been a lovely home.
