A very unique place to stay in a beautiful, traditional neighborhood!
The remodeled toilet, shower, and washing machine areas were wonderful.
The dining space has a nostalgic feel!
Also, the price is extremely reasonable.
We were a family of four. Three of us (including our two daughters) were set up to stay in the kura (倉) attached to the building. This is a very dark and stuffy space historically meant for storing family heirlooms, and definitely not (traditionally, anyway) for people to sleep in... particularly due to its very thick walls and vault-like door. I would recommend that this space not be advertised for people to sleep in the summer. Internationals might be okay with it in the winter (?). Instead, I think the rooms above the dining space are very charming (especially if there were air conditioning)! We moved the futons up there.
