Villa Lara AmberBlue Pefkos

The villa was lovely, with lots of different areas for everyone to enjoy throughout the day. The pool was great and the setting was typically Greek. There was great communication from Gosia with information before our stay and contact with Natalie via WhatsApp during our stay; she couldn't have done enough for us during our stay. We ordered food from the local supermarket as we didn't arrive until late. She received the delivery and it was packed away before we arrived. She made it clear that nothing was too much trouble. The villa is a short walk to two beaches with lovely sea, but not lots of sand. Sunbeds available on both (although quite expensive and some were a bit grotty). Our favourite beach (Fokia Beach) was more off the beaten track (turn right at the top of the hill). This was great for snorkeling and rock pooling. There is a slope down to get to the pebbled beach in the secluded cove. Pefkas town has a variety of places to eat and we didn't struggle to find authentic Greek vegetarian and vegan options alongside traditional meat dishes. We ate at Taverna Anixis(turn left at the top of the hill and it's a few metres down on the right, set on top of the hill) on our last night and the prior there are so accommodating and friendly. We had popped in a couple of nights before and pre-ordered as some dishes need notice. They had vegetarian options available, but offered to cook Briam especially, which wasn't in the menu. Beautiful views of the sea from the top. So much to visit in the area. We drove into the mountains, visited Rhodes Town and Lindos (by bus) enjoyed water sports at Paralia beach in Lardos and had a lovely walk in Butterfly Valley on our way back to the airport. This villa is a great base for exploring a beautiful Greek Island with so much on the doorstep if you don't want to go further afield. We visited with our grown up family, but would be perfect for small children too.

The only issue we had was that the jacuzzi only stayed in for about a minute each time the button was pressed. Natalie did try to solve this issue, but to no avail.

The villa itself is really well laid out for family living, and it's modern. Fitted units and white goods (fridge, dishwasher, washing machine) all good quality and modern. Beds are comfortable. Window shutters/black out blinds excellent. Feels really safe with electric barrier and car port, and road outside provides direct walking route to beach in 5 mins. The pool is a good size and has an integrated jacuzzi. The place feels classy!

The 3 bedrooms are small for the price you are paying for the villa. All the bedding is stacked into the ground floor bedroom wardrobe, limiting space. Unfortunately there was an issue with the cleaning team arriving later than expected on our arrival day - Natalie was very apologetic and friendly and made up for any inconvenience, which we really appreciated. Great service from her, always willing and able to help where possible during our stay. Four things stood out as not so great: None of the bedsheets were ironed, which when paying a premium we would expect. The sheets had obviously not been professionally laundered. Some areas of the villa did not feel particularly clean even after the team had been in during our arrival afternoon - specifically the downstairs bedroom floor and the floor of the kitchen and utility room. The kitchen utensils are cheap and limited (no corkscrew, low quality with only 1 set of utensils for use in Kitchen and BBQ). Cleaning products are minimal and be prepared to buy your own bin bags and any additional loo rolls after the 2 and 3 respectively provided. This skimping by the owner/management team makes an expensive villa feel cheap, which is a real shame.

Really beautiful. The accommodation was lovely. Views to the sea. Beds were so comfortable. The location was very peaceful and the walk to the plentiful restaurants were close by. Accommodation was modern, spacious and luxurious. I'm glad we hired a car but not essential

There is very little shade in the afternoon. There is a stiff climb up to the main road so would be difficult for older people or if you had mobility issues.

We were given the key code to open and keys were inside. The villa was exceptional, decorated to a high level, had everything you needed. Great location - c15 mins walk it into the centre of Pefkos but also a few tavernas and shops close by.

The bottom sheet on the mattress was not fitted so kept moving about which was a bit uncomfortable. It would be better if it had a thicker fitted sheet.
