Kitchener is a lovely city with a small-town vibe that is located in the Saint Lawrence Lowlands of Southwestern Ontario.
The former German Mennonite town is now a thriving city with a lot of European heritage, much of which can be seen today. Kitchener is a culturally rich city with loads to offer any visitor.
Still, it is often missed by many, though its proximity to Toronto makes it an excellent choice for anyone that wants to explore a different kind of city.

Initially we were having an issue because we didn’t know there would be people staying in the basement. The people in the basement were extremely disruptive. There was a strange smell coming from under the sink and one of the smoke detectors wasn’t secured to the ceiling. They sent someone out to fix this one but we were out at the time. There is only Netflix on the tv that we could find and the sofa bed actually did not have a mattress on it- this issue we didn’t discover until our last day there when my husband was trying to sort out why the couch kept sinking in.
I did give a little lower score for the accuracy of the listing because we did not have 2 parking spots as there was people downstairs, the sofa bed didn’t exist, there were no towels on the beds as stated in the ad and only 5 towels overall for shower, and I feel like the ad should inform you others might be in the basement. The house is NOT soundproof by any means, but it seems to be fairly old.
It is very close to a lot of amenities. Very good location.
Having said all this - my toddler locked us all out one day by playing with the lock on the handle and Noni was kind enough to drive out to us from an hour away and help us out.

We stayed at this property because of its location. The pictures are quite accurate, the property was clean and cozy. The living/ dining room allowed us to have a small family gathering after my fathers funeral. We were worried 1 bathroom would be hard for 5 adults to get ready. What would be helpful is having a mirror in each bedroom to allow people different spaces for this activity.
Recycling was interesting. They are very serious about recycling done appropriately. What would have helped is having the list that was sent to us before we arrived because recycling is quite different where we live. Outside of this we had a good stay.

The property is well located if you have things to do in Kitchener (close to the highway and everything else). The owners were responsive and accommodating, but the house is smaller than it looks in the pictures. When we arrived, it was quite dirty and had not been cleaned (the fridge was dirty, and there were other people's clothes and garbage in a closet), and the outside was full of garbage bags. Given the garbage outside, it was difficult to open the back gate, and there were even more bags in the backyard. This was disappointing.
