Albufeira Oura Beach Apartment

Hemos estado muy agusto, íbamos con nuestra bebé de 7 meses, el apartamento es precioso, decorado con muy buen gusto no le faltaba un detalle y muy amplio, con balcón y las vistas a la piscina, la ubicación era buena en una zona residencial alejado del bullicio pero cerca de las principales zonas de interés ya que contaba con garaje y en coche estaba a 5/10 minutos de todo.

La única pega que pondría es que el agua de la ducha tenía muy poca presión, y que está en un segundo piso sin ascensor, la piscina bien, limpia pero necesita una reforma. Aún así repetiría sin duda.

Excellent décor and facilities of the apartment the result of a relatively recent refurbishment. Close to bars and restaurants. The location was 3-5 minutes walk to an Aldis supermarket and The Strip (New Town) which was not a big draw for us but might be for "younger visitors" after the party life. We didnt notice any issues with loud noise from music venues or Hens & Stags - it may be different in height of Summer though. It was about 35-45 minutes from Old Town and a further 15-20 minutes to Marina both of which we did regularly over the 4 week stay. Note that there are some hills which could be an issue for those with some mobility problems however there is a regular Land Train that does the main routes or you can negotiate with the multitude of Tuk-Tuk drivers that are always waiting around the various key locations at beach etc Host was friendly in our interactions. The several beaches within 15 minute walk or so were gorgeous (so much nicer than Canaries).

A few minor things that we would highlight were : Apartment is on 2nd floor and no lift, so some might struggle getting large suitcase up to the room. Multiple power trips (particularly at lunchtime) - realised usually related to washing machine at same time as Oven/Hob and microwave.. NOTE these power loss did not show any of the fuses/MCBs having tripped - but turning main switch off and on again seemed to reset OK most times. We were also surprised to have to pay a "damage deposit" in cash on arrival. There was no such mention of this within the information on Booking.com at time of original booking (which is not in line with the Booking.com T&Cs about such practices. We did have a message just before we travelled mentioning there would be a deposit taken (but it didnt specify cash). We tried to pay by card but that wasn't possible so we paid the cash deposit a couple of days later. (Note that we did report 2 breakages - small espresso cup and a crack in a wine glass) but all the deposit was returned - which was good). There is a church based on the lower floor, and some days you would hear hymns. None of the above significantly impacted our holiday. There were two other issues that had more impact, one of them enough that despite the excellent good points means we would not use again. Firstly the pool was not in a reasonable state of repair, (paint coming off the walls of pool in significant areas). Later noticed a review from May 2024 mentioning the same, the response was it would be rectified by May 2025 (no chance). However by far the biggest issue was the location is Residential (mainly rather than holiday makers). The Portuguese occupant in apartment below has a small dog , usually left on the balcony all day. This meant that 80%+ of times tried to use balcony the dog would bark incessantly (at least didnt do late at night). For those that wouldn't have an issue with the dog barking then this is a great apartment.

Clean large luxurious apartment. Cannot fault. Perfect.

The only downside was the pool. It needs repairing and lack of sunbeds. The only reason I never give it a 10.
