Ammiraglio Giglio Castello

The place was perfect for everything. The giglio is the best place . Close to the bus station , restaurant and coffee shop . The room good for 2 people and it's perfect. Most of the time you always outside , so this kind of space is ok .

The only thing I didn't like is the beddings that's it's feels hard on your body ( linen ) . It's written in booking that they have dryer for the hair so I didn't bring mine ,then suddenly hair dryer it's not there in the room . (Upset lil bit coz most of the time your in the beach so you need to dry your hair atleast to go to restaurant) So next time for those who coming here bring everything;) There's a free card for washing shop ,but we found only before we go home , coz they didn't explain / tell us properly what is where . , Anyway it's not big deal we still enjoy the place .

Stella in the office was quite helpful, and even gave us a lift to and from the apartment with our bags in her own car. We were able to check in early so that gave us an extra half-day. The apartment does have amazing views over Campese to the sea and Montecristo island. You can sit on the balcony with a glass of wine and enjoy that. The bed was OK. One of the walking routes down to the west coast goes from just outside the apartment. 250m walk to the town wall and bus stop. The bus service across the island is useful and reliable. The apartment has 2 bedrooms and bathrooms. Giglio itself is a lovely island and Castello is a good base as you can easily get to either coast and Castello itself is an interesting old walled town.

First thing to say is that 'Ammiraglio giglio castello' is just the name of the managing agency for a number of apartments. We wrongly assumed that the arrow on some photographs pointed to our apartment. It didn't. Ours was actually outside the town walls in a relatively new block of apartments. This was not clear. In fact the photographs on Booking.com are a mixture of different apartments, so it's not clear what you're getting. Our apartment did at least have a good view of the sea, so not all bad. We accidentally turned off the water heater, because it wasn't clear what the switch was for (it is next to a light switch). Small things like not having much toilet paper and only basic toiletries while not a big deal just makes it feel a bit cheap. No wifi. No electric kettle. The 'coffee machine' is actually a stove top pot (unless there was another one I didn't find). A bit pricey, but it is a 4-person apartment.
