The accomodation comprises the first two floors of a 4 storey house made of, I think, slate. It sits in front of a cliff and the view to the front are marvellous looking across Afon Mawddach.
Highlights are waking across the railway bridge to Fairbourne, the Fairbourne narrow guage to the ferry and across the estuary back to Barmouth. There also good walks up the mountain behind the house.
Portmerion is a 40 minute drive (18 miles) and a must visit and also Portmadog with the Ffestiniog Railway.
The Last Inn is probably the best pub which serves meals.
The Barmouth pub which serves decent grub but is very noisy.
Barmouth itself is interesting but the middle of the town is nothing to write home about.
