About this house rental
The Camlachie chapel was built in 1877 and served its community up until 2014. It has been completely converted into a cozy, rustic sanctuary. All the beauty of the original church remains, resulting in a unique experience for your next getaway. A 3 minute drive to numerous beaches, you'll be perfectly situated to enjoy all this area offers.
The Chapel, with its spacious and inviting living, playing, and dining areas, is virtually unchanged with soaring ceilings, gorgeous beams, original trim, stained glass, and flooring, complete with gas woodstove. A bedroom in the choir loft above oversees the sanctuary, with a private room on the main floor below the loft for extra guests. The large kitchen sits under the incredible 20' tall wall of stained glass in the original altar.
The hall, added in 1970, has been transformed into a modern, private, master suite with a full bathroom. There's also a powder room adjacent to the kitchen, and full laundry.
The property has a large yard with a fire pit and backs a field offering a perfect spot to watch the sunset.
With its fantastic acoustics, light, and energy, any singer/songwriter, photographer, writer or otherwise creatively-inclined will be inspired.

This is our third or fourth time spending the weekend here with our grandchildren. The property is welcoming to pets. Thank you. We loved the roominess for children to play, the games available, the fire pit, outdoor place to play and the balcony which is great for paper airplane flying. We had clean sheets and towels. The bathrooms were very clean and kitchen area was clean. Our only concern is the cleanliness throughout other spaces. It is an old building and could use a thorough cleaning (floors, window sills etc), fixing walls, ceilings and painting. We killed several spiders. Obviously, the space it provides, inside and out, outweighs these concerns.
