Runas Inn Machupicchu

The host Olga was beyond incredible! We got sick on our final day, and though she could not extend our stay or do a late check out, she asked around and found an hourly hostel next door to take us in while we rested and recovered for the day before our train. Her breakfasts were delicious, and the room’s view was beyond compare.

The train goes right by the hotel and can be loud, but thankfully is not too frequent.

Great location to start off walking to the Machu Picchu trail in the morning. Jimmy was very welcoming, gave us great tips and was a wonderful host. We especially appreciated that there was a packed breakfast option, as we left very early in the morning (I really liked the cheese sandwich). We were able to leave our luggage and even have a quick shower after we got back, which was very welcome. The room was clean and the shower had hot water, which was amazing. It’s true that you can hear the train passing, however that is the case in most of aguas calientes and we slept very well with earplugs. All in all a great stay!

The location is great, very close to the main city point.
