Charming 1-bedroom Basement Close to DC Pets Allowed

Location is excellent to get to and about 15 minutes from DC. Gracious host who allowed us to use her grocery discount account. We had use of our own kitchen and of course cable and free computer access codes.

It was very cozy, and the apartment had everything we needed. There are several stores within walking distance. She was a great host, super friendly. Also, it is very clean.

The accommodation was large with a kitchen/dining work area separate from the bedroom. The access to a very large washing machine and a large dryer was off the bedroom. The central ac kept the room cool. The furnishings were unique and interesting. The bed was comfy and I slept well. Short walk to a bus stop that took you to the Metro. Metro links to city centre and to the airports. I did not have a car and it was very easy to get in and out of the centre. I stayed for July 4th and days before and was very happy using it as my base to explore Smithsonian Museums and Capitol Monuments etc.

For me I was happy with it all but some may have been taken back by an drain hidden behind a screen. It was only noticeable when there was a huge downpour. The AC is quite noisy but I would rather have that than be uncomfortably hot.

A lot of space. A kitchen, a bed, and a matress. Not much else.

THE PLACE WAS DIRTY. IT WAS AS DIRTY AS IT GETS. IT HAS NOT SEEN A VACUUM IN DECADES. DUST, SPIDER WEBS, DOG HAIR, EVERYWHERE. Not to mention the overwhelming aroma infused everywhere. The lady upstairs smokes so it was also noticeable.
