Conveniently located on US-31, heading out for exploring northern Michigan couldn't be easier.

- ferry service to Mackinac Island (28 miles north)
- public boat launch (2 miles down the road)

- North Western State Trail connecting Petoskey to Mackinaw
City (across the street!). This is a bike path in the summer, and
a snowmobile trail in the winter!

The Oden Island sandbar (seen from the Cottage) is one of the most popular places on Crooked Lake for mooring a pontoon and exploring the sandy lake-bottom. There are Marinas close-by for renting jet-skis by the day or week, or bring your own boat and launch at the Little Traverse Boat Launch just 2 miles down the road.

The Crooked Lake Cottage is your jumping-off point for all things northern Michigan. We are proud to be on the beautiful Inland Waterway - the chain of lakes and rivers which connects Pickerel Lake, Crooked Lake, Crooked River (which has a fully operational lock and the world's smallest swing-bridge!), beautiful Burt Lake, Indian River, Mullett Lake, Cheboygan River to Lake Huron.
Getting around
The Cottage is ideally located for those wanting to explore the area by boat, kayak, paddle board, paddleboat, bike, ski, snowmobile, or snowshoe.

All you’ll need to bring is food and drink all other amenities are provided for a lovely stay.
