Musiña Lodge

I stayed at Musiña Lodge on Amantaní Island for two nights and honestly, it became one of the highlights of my entire Peru trip. The lodge is run by an incredible family: Ernesto (the father and head of the family), Diego (my main contact throughout the stay), his sister Hilde, and their mother Huana. From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcomed. Diego was always available, extremely helpful, organized, and full of great tips. He even arranged WiFi access for me although I never expected it and it certainly wasn't necessary. The rooms are simple, but that's true for virtually all lodges on the island. If you come to Amantaní expecting a luxury resort, you're coming for the wrong reasons. Everything here is lovingly maintained, cozy, authentic, and I slept incredibly well. The food prepared by Hilde and Huana was absolutely fantastic. Every meal felt homemade with great care and hospitality. After a few hours, you no longer feel like a guest but rather like part of the family. But the real star is Amantaní itself. If you're looking to disconnect from the world for a few days, slow down, and experience one of the most beautiful places in Peru, this is it. I walked around the entire island in about three hours and it was genuinely one of the most breathtaking experiences of my trip. The views over Lake Titicaca are simply unforgettable. A practical tip for future travelers: The easiest way to reach the island is to take an Uber from Puno directly to Playa de Chifrón (around 80 Soles). From there, boats leave regularly and the crossing costs around 15 Soles. I was repeatedly told in Puno that most tours only depart around 8 AM and usually visit other islands first. On my way back, I paid only 15 Soles for the boat plus 11 Soles for a collectivo to Juliaca. An absolute bargain. Thank you Ernesto, Diego, Hilde and Huana for your incredible hospitality. If I ever return to Lake Titicaca, I know exactly where I will stay.

Nous avons été conquis par toute cette adorable famille. La chambre est spacieuse et offre une vue imprenable sur le lac Titicaca, et un coucher de soleil absolument magnifique. Très bon petit déjeuner avec café et boisson chaude à volonté. Les repas sont également excellents et concoctés avec attention. L’endroit est envoûtant par son calme et sa beauté, Ernesto et sa famille sont de très belles personnes.

Diego and his family are super sweet. They showed us around, cookes wonderful food, made great pisco sours and were very supportive

The shower is not in the house but 1-2 minutes away in another house. In the night it was cold, but ok - its on 3800m
