Nestled in the embrace of the magical Káli Basin, in Balatonrendes, this amazing mansion-style house was built along the main road in the early 1900s. Today it is an elegant and classy holiday home for families and couples and it offers lovely, ground-floor apartment accommodation with a total capacity of up to 6 guests.
Outside, amongst welcoming peace and privacy, the apartment features an all-weather open-air dining and a vibrant private garden, where guests can cook delicious meals in a traditional Hungarian way. The garden also has a sandpit and a swing, creating an idyllic vacation atmosphere for all ages.
Inside, the apartment has a classic, vintage-style living room with big sofas, an overhead chandelier, an HD Smart TV, and indoor games. A kitchen with a dining area also features inside.

The holiday apartment is located in the quiet town of Balatonrendes and is just a short walk (10 minutes) from the family-friendly Pálkövei beach with amenities like beach volleyball to enjoy. At the lakeshore, guests can bathe and relax as well as soak up pristine nature and unforgettable sunsets by the lake. In winter, when the lake freezes, it becomes an attractive venue for ice-fishing, skating, and sledging.
A cafe and a restaurant are close by, within a stone’s throw away from the apartment, for days when guests would like to eat out. For those with children, the adorable Salföld Farm (7-minute drive) is a must-visit to experience traditional Hungarian farm life, connect with nature, enjoy pony rides, pet animals, and more. Cycling, walking, and hiking around Káli Basin and Lake Balaton is an extra with food tastings like cheese and Hungarian sausages. Tihany, Balatonfüred and Keszthely, both very well-known towns on the lake, are a 30-minute drive from here. For lovers of Thermal water, Heviz, the famous spa town is next to Keszthely. Meanwhile, for those looking for a day trip and enjoying the nightlife at Lake Balaton, the town of Siófok–the second most famous tourist attraction after Budapest in Hungary–is a 1 hour 25 minutes drive away.

We, a family of five and our dog, had a wonderful time at this very charming apartment decorated with so much thoughtfulness and lovely little details. The apartment was very clean and the kitchen very well equipped. There are two bedrooms which can accommodate three people each so there is plenty of room for up to six people. The garden was perfect for our dog as it is closed-in and we enjoyed playing table tennis or sitting in the hammock or hut tub. There is a little fireplace in the garden where we sat around grilling sausages on sticks and enjoying the fire. The terrace is very spacious and shady and we would sit outside for breakfast and dinner. Due to the way the house was built it was always nice and cool inside so no air-conditioning is needed. The beach is very near about ten minutes walking distance. It is a small beach and not very crowded even in August. And if you walk up the hill you can find nice walks through the woods or through vineyards which was perfect for our dog. The house is located right at the main road which can be busy during the day but at night it was very quiet and peaceful. Supermarkets are close by in Ábrahámhegy and Révfülöp which has a little farmers market close to the camping site on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The area around Balatonrendes is full of interesting things to do and sights to see and our wonderful hosts had so many great tips for us. Don't miss the area around the village of Köveskál with some great restaurants, the Sunday market in Káptalantóti called Lilliomkert piac, breakfast at Andriska Bakery in Kövágóörs, best ice cream ever at Ko fagyi in Mindszentkálla, wine tasting at Sabar winery (during sundown on their terrace) and on and on. Our hosts were friendly and welcoming and made us feel at home.
