Ethos Vegan Suites Fira, Santorini

As longtime vegans, this was our first stay at a fully vegan accommodation and it really set the tone for what we expect from future accommodations. Upon arrival, we received a full info session by Coskun on all worthwhile activities in Santorini, places we could visit and a whole list of all the vegan(-friendly) restaurants all over the island with a map and we were all set. We were also greeted by Lady, the resident cat who regularly came to see us. The room itself was very spacious, clean and comfortable. It’s a very beautiful space with an authentic feel. For any extras that we needed, we just had to ask. I enjoyed the Greek mountain tea that got refilled every day in the pottery tea pot and cups in our room. We even got a lovely welcome basket with some herbs, apples and a takeaway box of the mountain tea which was such a thoughtful touch. Having a hot tub at our disposal was definitely a bonus. We planned a few mornings to just stay in the room and enjoy the hot tub. The location is very central and was perfect to plan everything from as the bus station is nearby as well as a lot of shops and vegan restaurants. The central location does come with a bit of noise which is something that’s hard to avoid in central Fira. During our stay, it became clear that Coskun and Artemis really try to go above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable in which they have absolutely succeeded. They arranged our airport transfers, helped us book a private island tour, helped us when we wanted to hire a vehicle and they kindly made a restaurant reservation for my birthday. They even helped my partner when we couldn’t find vaping liquid in any of the shops. Anything we mentioned that we needed or were interested in, they spontaneously helped us with which allowed us to fully relax and enjoy our holidays. Though everything was exceptional, we want to make an honourable mention regarding the vegan breakfast.

The location is superb. You are no more than 5-10 mins from anything in Fira including the bus stop if you're exploring further. The breakfast was brought straight to our room every morning - always a sweet option and a savoury option - taken either in our room or the balcony. So many new recipes for breakfasts that we will be recreating when we go home. I would've taken the chef home with me if I had the option. The Jacuzzi on the balcony is perfect. It is sun warmed so it is nice and refreshing first thing in the morning or a warmer dip during the day. Coskun was more than accommodating - he found us a vegan cooking class to attend and walked us to the venue to make sure we got there, booked our little sunset dinner and ensured we got a very nice table in Oia, and advised us on not only vegan restaurants in the area but what foods to look out for in case it didn't specifically say vegan. Both hosts were friendly and chatty, without being too much. They were there, only a Whatsapp away for anything we needed and I genuinely could not recommend it enough.

Everything was great - location was superb for exploring Santorini, around a 5 mins walk to the bus station. The decor and comfort of the room was excellent. More than anything though, the breakfast was amazing!! A real highlight of our stay, and catered for my gluten free diet too. Would highly recommend.
