We were there for a friend s wedding so it was ok for that but if I had gone there for a holiday I

We had a flat with a small kitchen so we only had the breakfast the first morning it was nice but not not much choice, we had a evening meal in the restaurant one night but thought it was only average and over priced for the quality. The grounds were scruffy and needed some attention but the scenery was beautiful and the receptionist was very friendly

The swimming pool was very clean and the area around it let it down as the grass was over grown

Enchanting

Absolutely stunning, peaceful and well maintained property. We were at the end of our holiday and could not afford to eat out so were in self catering. The dinner smelt and looked incredible, and we had one brealfast which was excellent. The pools and grounds were immacculate as was our accomodation. We will be back again and again

It was a great stay, location is lovely and we did enjoy it. Restaurant was a nice surprise-good and wine-exceptional.

It was clean and comfy for all 5of us.

There was no coffee, sugar, or basic supplies-eg salt/pepper/olive oil. As the place is rather isolated, would be nice to have some basics already provided.

Amazing place, very comfortable and with all the facilities. The hosts were very kind. The place is not nearly to the city so is necessary to move it by car. The view and landscapes were Amazing, also the adventure to drive in the Italy streets. I hope to come back some day.

Great spot to relax and enjoy the quiet and beauty that Italy has to offer. We were a group of 15 adults and had a great time swimming and cooking. It is remote, private, beautiful and the perfect spot for a chill holiday

Our group of city slickers were not used to the bugs 🥹There were a lot of mosquitoes 🤭 definitely pack some insect repellent

The main hotel property is absolutely beautiful and fully restored. If you are staying there, you will very much enjoy your visit. The staff were helpful and the owners were very kind.

We stayed in a portion of a home off-site (1-2km) from the main hotel. The home is slated for restoration in the fall and needs it desperately. It’s clear the house has charm and is historical however, the lack of screens (and surplus of mosquitos due to all the rain!) meant that we couldn’t keep the house open and it smelled musty during our stay. The bathrooms are at least 30+ years old (until reno’s are completed) and there are many small touches needed to help future guests feel more at home. I was able to connect with the owner prior to my departure and shared some feedback and she was very open to making needed improvements.

Lovely appartement, great staff

Here again a detailed review from Dunto Venaar. Only reviews from places i visited myself. This week we stayed for family holiday with our 3 kids (15, 13, 9) in tuscany. First extra stars for service. Due to traffic jam we were not able to arrive before 7pm. We called the host and she waited till we arrived. Contact with WhatsApp and by phone was easy and very helpful. The appartement (gardena suite) was superb. Fully renovated. Very clean. Two spacious rooms with both own bathroom. With new interior. Rainshower. 3 beds (kingsize and 1 person bed) in one room and 1 kingsize bed in the other. Nice living room with 2 sofa's and dining table. Small kitchen with simple equipement. Located in a small village, 25 minute romantic drive to florence city center. 1,5 hour to sienna and pisa. 1 hour to lucca. At 10 minute drive to vaglia trainstation we parked the car and took a train to florence (25 minute) main station. At the residence there is a great restaurant where we had a high class dinner. Not the cheapest but very price worthy. Great staff. In the garden is an infinity swimming pool and a cosy terrace to drink great wine. Due to family issues we had to leave a day earlier. Without any discussion the host helped us to have everything arranged before our department. This hotel is a great place to experience the tuscany hill feeling with great opportunities to visit touristic places and both enjoy the relaxing tuscany hills.

Kitchen equipment could be better. No wine glasses. Matrass of the beds are simple, no choice for pillows. It was unclear how to change towels. However we think if we had asked the host would have arranged this immediately. So this is just a tip for the host.

Excellent stay close to nature and Florence

We were very pleased with our days at Florence Country Residence, located in a beautiful landscape in the hills north of Florence. The apartment was very nice, well equipped and with a fresh newly renovated bathroom. The staff was friendly and the owner took time to chat with us several times and gave useful information about activities and places to visit in the area. We preferred the calm relaxing sourrouding with green hills and singing birds after a more hectic day in Florence.

Can't find true negatives. An improvment would be to have marked footpaths in the surrounding nature. There are some paths further away, such as at the monestary uphill (well worth a visit).

Not a great experience

The photos do not represent accurately the property.

The bathroom and kitchenette were outdated and tiered. The veneer of the bathroom cabinet was broken and peeling off. The plaster in the kitchen was flaking off and falling to the ground. The dishes in the kitchen were minimal. There was no water provided at check in, no sugar, salt or pepper or coffee to tie you over for the first day. Everything was minimal. The mattress was very hard and we could feel the springs when laying down. The pool area and garden were neglected. The towels were thread bare. During a rainstorm water came into the bedroom and damaged a piece of leather luggage sitting on the floor. Everything felt tiered and not kept up.

Amazing pool with breathtaking view I see as the greatest value for the stay. Possibility to use a nearby restaurant. Kitchen in the apartment well equiped.

To be honest, for how it the was presented online we expected much higher standard of the accommodation - Not a very nice plastic flower on the table on a plastic table cloth. It was a disapointment. It is not that expensive to place a runner or tabel cloth from fabric with a vase with dried flowers or even nothing on the table. It looks far better than this cheap solution. The sofa seemed used a lot, not comfortable for sitting, cannot imagine to use it for sleeping. We as well expected some common areas inside the house.

A beautiful and relaxed stay in the Tuscan countryside

The Florence Country Residence was the perfect start to my week in Florence! My room was very pretty and had sunset views. I felt very comfortable and safe and even though all the rooms were booked, I felt like it wasn't crowded at all around the pool. The ladies at the reception desk were so nice. I forgot to bring my camera charger and had one delivered to the front desk and they notified me immediately when it arrived. The location is stunning and good for solo travellers, couples and small families.

I didn't notice that my room didn't come with shampoo so I had to ask for some at the front desk but they were gracious and offered me shampoo for free.

Superb

What a lovely place! Gorgeous surroundings - a beautiful country stay. The apartment we stayed in is old of course but very spacious for a family of 4, clean and we had everything we needed for a few days stay. The pool area was very nice and the view just fantastic. Very friendly staff. Easy to make a day trip to Florence, just about a 25 minute drive. If travelling with children, I highly recommend the Il Gigante Parco Avventura which is located just a few minutes down the road.

Photographs utterly misleading

The manageress tried her best to assist.

We booked at this hotel very last minute to escape the heat wave in Florence. It was very expensive but the photographs looked so lovely, we decided it would be a treat. On arrival, we were taken to a different site from the main hotel which had the expansive views. The unit which looked light and airy in the professional (and clearly photoshopped photographs) was dark, dingy and poorly maintained. There were no views from the unit (despite advertised); no kettle; no iron (later remedied as well as the unit’s kettle and iron being dumped on a table by housekeeping the following morning); bathrooms old and bath function not working (shower also sprayed into the window); and pots and cutlery in cupboards were dirty with food remnants from previous occupants and needed rewashing. The worst experience however was that having discovered that the unit was really not what was advertised and not what we had been led to believe we were booking, I asked if we could pay for the first night (of 3) and find an alternative elsewhere. The answer from the owner was an uncompromising NO. No discussion; no negotiation. Given that the booking had only been made and paid for 6 hours before, the unit was unbooked and there was no chance of having “turned away” other bookings. Despite having parted with over 1800 euros and our unhappiness being completely ignored, we then had to spend another 250 euros at the establishment’s very expensive restaurant for dinner as the venue is very isolated so there were no other options in the vicinity and it was late. Of course, we weren’t even offered a coffee for our disappointment. The food was good but it didn’t make up for the terrible accommodation. Of our 3 weeks in Italy, this is the only establishment I am giving a poor review as I believe in supporting independent businesses. This one however does not deserve support.

Amazing location but pricey extras

The property is in the most stunning area of countryside, yet only 20 min drive from Florence centre. Lovely building and pool area. The restaurant in the nearby hotel was also lovely.

We were really disappointed that one day before our arrival we were told that the loan of a travel cot would cost €120 for our 4 night trip. We had booked a 2 bed villa (there was 2 of us and our toddler) and requested a cot at the time of booking and were never made aware. This was almost the price of a one night stay, and surely more than the cot itself was worth! When we approached this with reception staff we were told there was no way around this.

Fantastic location in a peaceful part of Viliani, looking over rolling hills with amazing views and a feeling of tranquility. Very large and comfortable rooms that provide plenty of comfort Friendly service that went out of their way to ensure we were settled.

Only one plug point in the kitchen so you need to constantly swap plugs between using kettle, microwave and toaster.

My wife and I spent several days here. We were very warmly welcomed by Tiziana. In the run-up we asked again and again whether everything works with our arrival. We were immediately on a warm personal level. The breakfast was very tasty. There are homemade meals. Also the restaurant is highly recommended for dinner. The owner and husband of Tiziana is a sommelier. The entire staff is very professional and friendly. The apartment was nice. It’s great to be in such a historic building and ambiance. There was everything we need. The journey to Florence by car takes about 20 minutes. We recommend the parking garage “Parcheggio Parterre.” The view and the pool are great. We highly recommend this place and would like to thank Tiziana, Giulia and all the other staff.
