We had a great time even without power during Hurricane Helene. Edisto Beach is a great place to do absolutely nothing but watch the sun rise and set.

Close to the beach it’s only plus. Very dated, needs a refresh badly. 2 bathrooms for 8 people just does not work either. Hot water runs out quick, bathrooms and floors in them just old. There’s no filtered at sink or refrigerator even though it’s equipped for such, we used about 50 gallons of spring water instead. Hard wood floors were so dirty upon arrival our feet and socks were black in 1/2 hour we bought a swifter and box of pads and cleaned the floors first night there. There was cob webs in corners of rooms, spiders and webs outside every were in the morning on steps and under the house were you park, made the kids avoid the areas as the spiders were gross. We have been coming to Edisto for 40 years, We would not rent this house again unless it was the last one left as it was this time as our already booked with VBRO beach house was cancelled on us after being paid for for almost 3 months, I guess the owners of that place found a higher buyer for the holiday weekend as it was occupied when we checked it a few times, we stayed in it the previous year and where planning on being in it again, nope, luckily we found another place as our travel flights and where already booked. We plan on just renting from a beach realtor direct as we have for 40 years prior in the future. VBRO rentals did not do us well this year on Edisto.
