About this house rental
The home also has a loft area, fireplace (wood stove), secret room, office, vegetable garden with fresh fruits (when in season), fruit trees, tree house, trampoline, cliff swing and even a small trail leading to a small hidden brook that crosses the property.
Perfect place to relax with several outdoor fire pit places. Far enough away from Harrisonburg so as to not be disturbed by the hustle and bustle, but close enough to jump into town within 10 minutes of commercial center.
Plenty to do nearby.
Less than 10 minutes away from excellent nearby Wineries, 2 different golf courses, Grand Caverns, Shenandoah River fishing and splash spots, hiking trails, JMU, Arboretum, Hospital and Harrisonburg commercial shopping and dining center. 20 minutes or less away from Skyline Drive National Park, Massanutten 4 season resort including skiing and snowboarding, mountain biking, golf, and a 4 season indoor Water Park.
The house is also located in a Historical civil war area where civil war battles are re-enacted (in season).

Beautiful property, well stocked kitchen and bathrooms! The "swimming spa" was much larger than we expected and was a real hit with our children for use as a heated swimming pool!

Stayed with a group of friends while visiting family for Thanksgiving. The kids loved the game room, and the hot tub was nice in the cold! Beds were comfortable, kitchen was well appointed, and lots of space, both indoors and out. Property could use a little TLC...some minor maintenance issues indoors (paint chipping off walls), and we had to keep a close eye on the kids outside because of some debris, the presence of a trampoline that was in bad shape, and some other outdoor items that are starting to fall apart. Overall a great place that we'd stay at again, though!

We recently stayed at this property and had a fantastic time overall!
Pros
The kids absolutely loved the secret game room, which kept them entertained for hours.
As parents, we appreciated the spacious kitchen and living area, making it easy to relax and enjoy family meals together.
The trampoline, projector for movie nights, and the swim spa provided were hits for the kids.
Good location, close to mountains, hikes, JMU, vineyards, farms.
Cons
There were some older structures in the yard that seemed potentially dangerous, along with quite a bit of clutter, including an old car parked in the driveway.
Additionally, there wasn't a cohesive fire pit area that was conveniently located near the house.
Overall
We had a memorable stay and would recommend this property for families looking for a fun getaway. With a few improvements to the outdoor space, it could be even better!

Pros: This was a lovely home, very spacious with lots of ammenities.
Cons: Home has Septic System. The owners house rule: All soiled toilet paper to be put in the trash. The trash cans offered did not even have tops. The thought of this was disgusting to my family that accompanied me on the trip. We ended up getting poop bags like you would use for a dog to put the tissue in so that it could be tied up in a bag. Honestly, had I known this at time of booking this property, i would not have booked it. This killed the whole spirit of the trip. I had to listen to remarks about how disguting this was. Why was this not in the listing details. This takes away the luxury of a home away from home.
Also, to get to the basement, there are no railings. This is a hazard and goes against inspection code.
In light of all, I would not recomend this property to anyone. I rent properties all thru the year for trips I host for family and friends. If asked this is my first that I consider the worst.
