The Water Shack - Amazing tiny house retreat

The water shack was a blissful, rustic, peaceful place to recharge and relax. So many different coloured dragonflies and butterflies. I even saw bats flying around at night from the comfort of the outdoor bathtub. Sunbathing in the hammock, taking a walk to the swimming lake and sitting by the fire pit were some of the highlights. The main feature has to be the outdoor bathtub, the bottle of radox was a welcomed treat along with prosecco in the fridge on arrival.

I had an amazing time at The Water Shack, Jon is the perfect host he went above and beyond for my entire stay. Each of the huts has everything you could ever need and the grounds and the surroundings are absolutely beautifully kept. It’s the perfect place for a bit of rest and recuperation, there’s some gorgeous pubs nearby all in walking distance, and the site is very quiet and calming.

We were really looking forward to our stay, and nearly didn’t make it due to a family emergency. Thankfully we got there in the end, and we were not disappointed. Enhanced by fantastic weather, we had a thoroughly relaxing couple of nights in unique, rustic accommodation in a tranquil location. Peaceful day and night, this is like having all the best bits of camping, but with a flushing toilet, hot running water and a warm dry bed to get into! No Wi-Fi, tv or light pollution, just lazing around, laying in the hammock, watching and listening to the wildlife, cooking on the fire pit, taking in the sunset, and then watching the stars appear whilst taking a bath out on the deck.

Great choice of beers and good food at the Low House in the village. Although only a short walk away, a bit hairy due to a winding road with no footpaths. Wouldn’t recommend the walk in the dark.

A recluse little space in the peace and quiet of proper English Countryside. Anything you need is less than 10 minutes away, but other than that; enjoy sunsets that send a peaceful calm across your patio, and stars that seem to twinkle just for you. To note, John was wonderfully accommodating - a great host.
