Bamboo Lodge Groningen

I fell in love with the place immediately. I was looking for a stay in nature and that's what I got. A sweet and comfortable hut, with peacocks, ducks and chickens walking around. The hosts are very nice and always ask if you are happy or in need of something. There's lots of beautiful bamboo and places to sit outside and enjoy the weather. Breakfast was great as well, fresh eggs and beautiful bread buns and everything you could wish for. For people that want to stay close to nature and prefer the raw to a polished hotel room, it's the right place.

Great location, very friendly staff, would definitely like to visit again during spring or summer

No space to hang your clothes, shared bathroom and shower is a challenge during winter

- The whole concept was fascinating, including the different themes for each room - Unique experience out of ordinary - Interesting area in vibrant development - The toilets were quite clean - The welcome box and the water

- Walking under the rain at night to go to pee (maybe a simple covered connection between the room and the toilet would help?) - We understand the "wild" theme, but wiping the bed from dust a bit better would be appreciated

Location is perfect for those visiting events at the Suikerfabriek and nearby areas - no other way you could stay so close! The theme is fun if you like that sort of thing, the wifi worked ok, the room was comfy

There is no lighting around the paths in the evening, I almost twisted an ankle carrying my bags. The whole place feels deserted - while the rooms and bathroom are actually quite nice, walking to/from them feels unnerving, with open doors to caravans with old clothing, animals roaming around, a bar where you could supposedly order food and drink but there's no sign of anyone... very strange vibe.
