Luhme Tulum Hostel - Free Cenote Access

Met some really nice people here. Owner is chill. Common areas are awesome. Large bar area with thatch roof and pool area beyond. Dorms have steel bunks with curtains and power nearby. There is a little, very basic kitchenette under the stairs. Locker provided. Some bicycles to get to the ruins, water holes or beach is a nice touch.

Good priced dorm, single sex with bathroom inside. Good location if you're on public transport - less than 10 minutes walk from the Ado terminal. Staff/manager is super friendly, helpful and kind, and is the reason I gave 7* and not 5* There's a pleasant bar and restaurant on site and many eating options around. Good taco place next door. There are bikes and scooters to rent. 2 cute kittens, though I have a sneaking suspicion they aren't official pets.

It's far from the beach. A collectivo is 35 pesos. There's a swimming pool but it's pretty murky and not at all appealing. There aren't any real cooking facilities, or none that we were shown. The 'free cenote access' is a red herring. There are free cenotes around, several of them nearer than this one, which is attached to a hotel/restaurant and is a 40 pesos+ collectivo ride away. Best to find your own. The whole place feels cold...ok we had a cold spell with some rain but the big, open building feels draughty and bleak when it's cold weather, with nowhere to snuggle in and get comfortable. We were lent blankets for the bed, (which was also perishing at night!) which was much appreciated. The biggest drawback for us was that this is a full-on party hostel, at least it was on Friday night, when the exceptionally loud music, singing and shouting went on until after 2am, and the drunken comings and goings in the dorm carried on until 5am. We got about 3 hours sleep. In the morning there was nobody on reception or anywhere to be found, even by 10.30 am all the doors were closed. Saturday was much better so maybe it was a one-off occasion, but my advice if you don't want to party all night and if you like a good night's sleep to enjoy the daytime, then avoid weekends. The beds are also hard, the water in the shower lukewarm at best. You do get what you pay for. This is a cheap hostel!

Great and friendly staff! Clean and nice room. Small pool, but ok.

-Why I dont recommend this place, is that noise in the nights is HORRIBLE. Nothing you can do about it. So several nights I needed to use earplugs to sleep. - Also a little bit far from the center. - You need to pay for using bikes. - The shower/warm water not the best... - No free drinking water.
