CHAMBRE JAUNE

Coolness. The apartment is on the ground floor and in the shade, so it likely stays cool on hot days, which is a real plus. Also, there are ACs in the rooms. Location. Ialyssos beach is right across the road. It has a free section as well as sections with sun beds for rent (we saw prices of €13-20 for two). There are plenty of tavernas and cafés nearby, the large Sklaventis supermarket is about a 10-minute walk away, and car and motorbike rentals are easy to find. There is a free parking lot near the beach. Host. The host was friendly and accommodating, and communication with her was easy. The welcome package was a nice touch. Equipment and cleanliness. The apartment is well equipped overall, apart from the items mentioned below. It was cleaned well.

Noise. The apartment is in a house with several other units, and sound insulation is minimal: you can clearly hear neighbours talking, walking and moving furniture (?) (we kept hearing a loud metallic sound and never figured out what it was). Next to the house is kind of a hotel games room, so muffled music and activity carry into the evening and night. If there are open-air concerts or parties nearby, they are audible too, though these activities usually stopped by 11 PM. Planes fly over the coast frequently, and the road is very close, so traffic noise comes through regularly. It isn't loud all the time, but it is far from quiet. I was surprised that no previous reviews mentioned this. "Sea view". A tiny strip of sea is visible from one of the rooms and from the area right in front of the house, so the description is technically accurate, but don't expect a real sea view. Maintenance. Several things need repair or replacement: the toilet seat isn't properly attached, the shower curtain rod is wobbly, the mosquito net in one bedroom window is coming loose, the kitchen bin lid is broken, the knives are blunt... Small things like that. None of this ruined our vacation, but overall the apartment could use more attention. Missing items. A spatula and a toaster would have been nice. A microwave too, though I understand there's no space for one.

De ligging was ideaal. Leuk welkom geschenkje bij aankomst. De host reageert enorm snel en ze heeft ons enorm goed geholpen met informatie. Top service!

Geen zitruimte binnen bij slecht weer. Bij het nemen van een douche staat de hele badkamer onder water en geen aftrekker. Het dubbel bed is veel te klein alsook de kamer. Geen plaats om kleding te hangen enkel in de kamer met 2 singel bedjes is een kleine kledingkast.

Very small kitchen and WC. There is not any furniture for clothes in the master room

The host was very friendly and communication was easy. We enjoyed that the apartment is across the street from beach. Kitchen is nicely equipped with some basic condiments. We appreciated the welcome package.

First night we run out of hot water and there was no hot water until we left after second night. Not sure if water is heated only by sun as the second day was colder with rain.
