The heating unit sounded like a truck running all night. Between the noise and bed with pillows not too comfy my wife and I didn’t sleep very well. We woke up in the middle of the night and couldn’t go back to sleep.

Nice location, nice views, nice people.

Location at river intersections gave us some cool views of boats. Reasonable distance to walk down river or into town depending on where you are going. Nice easy parking garage across the street. Big lobby inside. Most of the staff were excellent. Small shop in lobby also if you need a drink or snack at a weird hour.

One room was pretty old but fixed up. The other was much newer (we extended so changed rooms). It is a little far from the main attractions in Chicago if you are walking.

Excellent place to stay in Chicago

The local was ideal - within walking distance of main attractions. There was a great view. The hotel was lovely, the room was a generous size, and most everything was in great condition. It has a big, nice, warm pool! Would highly recommend, and it was amazing for the price too.

Minor point is some things weren't working, like not all the outlets. We didn't report them until checkout because they weren't that important.

Just stay at the Holiday Inn to level expectations

It it a “voco “ hotel or a Holiday Inn? It is fraying around the edges. The ice maker on my floor was broken and they wouldn’t send up ice but suggested I go to another floor. My friends air conditioning didn’t work for our entire stay even though the mechanics came 3 times in two days. The restaurant had sad limited menus We paid extra to be at the “voco “ but it felt like a floundering Holiday Inn. The staff-desk , waiters and housekeepers- were all outstanding. They are obviously unable to excel given the environment

Way under expectations. I was really looking forward to it. I have been VERY disappointed.

Not much to be honest at $285/night

The AC was leaking water into the room. Lot of paint on the wall and the furnitures were chipping away. The restroom was not cleaned properly. There was a LOT of dust in my room. The ice dispenser on the 22nd floor was not working. The breakfast was just okay. I really felt like I was staying in a motel. Management GOT TO DO WAY BETTER than that. You guys have a PRIME location, DO BETTER.

A frustrating stay due to poor communication and an unreturned security deposit.

I stayed at the hotel on May 20th, and a $200 security deposit was charged to my Visa card. Until today, the amount has not been refunded. I contacted the hotel multiple times, but they keep telling me there is no deposit to be returned. This is very unprofessional, and their customer service has been unhelpful. I wouldn’t recommend staying here due to the lack of transparency and poor handling of guest issues

They can't change this but it was a little inconvenient to go from parking garage to building entrance to elevator to 16th floor where you finally get to the lobby. That said, the hotel was beautiful and a great stay.

Not a good experience on a special day for family and friends

my daughter prom day, elevators were not working we had family stuck upstairs and the smoke situation. whilst we were also downstairs and couldn't go up it was scary, uncomfortable etc. the day was supposed to be smooth for the prom day. Family and friends were in an uncomfortable situation. I paid a lot of money, I didn't realize it was 2 hotels in one, very busy and all kinds of people back and forth

The location was ideal and the room was nice and clean. The view was also incredible.

The elevators to get to your room were a bit confusing and the store onsite would be closed at random times. The cleaning staff was also inconsistent and did not come clean our room until we called the third day. This was the case even though we were out all day on Thursday and Friday.

THe price was ridiculous. THe hidden unknowns. Noone told us it would be a $200 deposit for one night.Noone told us it would be $61 a night to park across the street. It was ridiculous and very overpriced for the time of stay and location.

Location was really good and it’s legit by the river, so walkable. Staff was friendly and their 24/7 store was a great convenience!

The room we were out in wasn’t the one specified in the booking but didn’t bother me much expect a city view I booked but instead was given a room facing the inner walls of the building.
