Tirthan Ecostay

I came to India to get away from a lot of the noise and hustle associated with my everyday life. I knew that visiting the lower Himalayas was a dream, and that there are some amazing views and trails to be found in northern India. One of the places that I was suggested in my research was the Tirthan Valley, a quiet little collection of villages nestled next to the Great Himalayan National Park that not many know about. Getting here from Manali was definitely not the easiest, but man, was I rewarded with an experience unlike any other. A total of 5 hours of buses and a shared taxi later, I arrived at the Tirthan Ecostay. As soon as I arrived, I instantly knew that this was going to be the best stop of my journeys. Virender and his cozy hospitality took care of me so well as I was coming off a brutal case of food poisoning. The rooms were clean, the food was hearty and delicious, and most importantly, the bathroom was pristine, and the water was hot! I felt as though I could stay here for months. My first days were filled with just lackadaisical lounging around, some remote work, and a generous helping of staring out at the view. Other than that, Virender was very gracious in helping me schedule taxis and buses to trek the nearby GHNP and the Jalori Pass. I think it goes without saying, but your homestay host is probably your best resource in getting around in India, and Virender did not disappoint. He was very well connected with the local community and people in the area, basically able to accommodate any request I had, even had my lunches packed for my day hikes. You wouldn't find much information about the Tirthan Valley just looking up information on Google. Even many of the travellers I encountered in Manali and Delhi had no idea this area existed and was a place to visit.

Didn't stay here long enough

Absolutely beautiful find! So serene and quiet surrounded by mountains. The food made in the accommodation was very tasty and comforting. The host was very attentive and helpful with any trips/plans we had. Definitely recommend!

Not so much a negative but a point. It does get cold as it is in the mountains and the house is made of wood so preparation is needed to stay warm.

My stay at Tirthan Eco Stay was truly wonderful and one of the most peaceful experiences I have had in the mountains. The property is beautifully located with stunning river, mountain, and valley views all around. The top view from the stay is absolutely breathtaking, especially during sunset when the entire valley looks golden and magical. The atmosphere is calm, refreshing, and perfect for anyone looking to spend quality time close to nature. One of the best parts of the stay was the warm hospitality by the host, Virendra Negi. He is extremely friendly, humble, and helpful. His conversations about local culture, hidden places around Tirthan Valley, trekking routes, and village life made the experience much more personal and enjoyable. He guided us properly about nearby sightseeing spots, short hikes, and local activities which helped us explore the region better. The Host was also polite, cooperative, and always ready to help with a smile.The rooms were neat, comfortable, and well-maintained with beautiful mountain and valley views. The property has a peaceful vibe where guests can relax, enjoy nature, and spend quality time away from city crowds. Evenings at the stay were especially memorable because of the bonfire arrangements. Sitting around the bonfire under the open sky with mountain weather and good conversations created a very positive and relaxing experience. The food served at the property was fresh, tasty, and prepared with great care. Breakfast and dinner both had homely flavors with good quality ingredients and proper hygiene. Every meal felt satisfying after a day of exploring the valley. They also served tea and snacks with warmth which added to the comfort of the stay..Another great thing about Tirthan Eco Stay is that they also organize local treks and nature walks for guests interested in exploring the beautiful surroundings. The nearby waterfall walks, scenic trails, and mountain routes make the experience even more adventurous and memorable.
